Well folks,it looks like I may have bought an RS3 today after a lot of emails and chats over the phone etc.
I'm aware you can't factory order anymore so been haggling dealers all day looking for unregistered ones without enormous option lists to help keep in budget.
The car is new and in Panther Black and options are, Pan roof, dynamic pack, comfort and sound pack and folding mirrors. Not a massive spec but I'm not sure I need anything else. Would have liked the black styling pack aswell but never mind.

I've not even seen the car yet,I'm hoping for some pics tomorrow!
Thoughts please,anything I'm missing?

I simply be happy with an RS3. Get it and have fun. Oh, and get it properly detailed and sealed with a ceramic costing or the like, especially with it being black. Looking forward to the picks. :superman:

Thanks, hopefully all goes well tomorrow and I'll stick a deposit down over the phone.
One question,am I right in thinking the RS3 comes standard with basic Nav?

Thanks folks. Any answer on the sat Nav question? Anything spec wise that really is a must have or they fine straight out the box!

SD nav is standard as long as built after mid Oct 15.

Is it possible to get the grill surround etc painted black by Audi after delivery? If so has anybody got an idea of cost?

The chrome will go lovely against the black so I wouldn't necessarily bother getting it wrapped or painted.
Sounds a decent spec and you have the all important dynamic pack! Do you mind saying what discount you got?

I don't mind at all, but it sounds stupid to say that I don't exactly know yet!
The car was up for £45700, I told him my budget and he said he could get to it with that car and that's how it's been left at the moment as it was nearly 7pm!

I'll have more detail tomorrow.

If anybody is after a new RS3 I know of one dealer that has 8 in stock!

I was having a ring round the other day and you're right that there's plenty still out there unregistered. I was told they'd do 8-9% dependant on the car...not bad at all.

Is £45700 a fair price for a car with that spec?

I was surprised how many there actually are just lying around so to speak! Problem is, many left are high spec, I wasn't bothered about a pan roof but hey ho!

£45,700 sounds like the base cost with the options (£5,000ish). I reckon you want 8% off that. So say about £42,000.

As you say, there's plenty still out there and those discounts are confirmed.

Yes, I've sort of done some man maths and I think they are doing the car for 42ish.
So is the 8% discount off a base car then add options or is it the total price?
Thanks for the great advice by the way.

I would expect 8% off total build cost. If you exclude the extras, the additions is only another £400 at 8% discount so at £42k that's the equivalent of £5k of extras for £2k

Sounds a good deal.

8%? ******* myself :tearsofjoy: where do you guys get this info from? Can only harm prospective owners imho.

One final question for now, what APR finance should I be looking at from Audi on the RS3?
Anybody recently bought one who could shed some light?

8% is not a joke or made up. I've had two different dealers with two different cars offer me 9% off an unregistered car they had in stock.

I get the impression they have stock they are struggling to shift, partly because of crap spec. A lot don't even have a styling pack or upgraded wheels etc.

Stoke Audi have a lot of new ones that they seem keen to shift.

I came close to a deal on a 2016 catalunya red one. After a fair bit of haggling, they came down £3700 from the initial cost to change figure! I just dont want to spend so much on a car so I declined the deal.

I think they are desperate to off load them as they have a hell of a lot of money sat depreciating each day.....especially now that the facelift A3/S3 is on the streets.....to Joe public in the showroom, it makes the RS3 look outdated.

Its also a bit concerning that for such a low volume car, there are a fair few available second hand.

Ive seen a medium spec 2015 car In immaculate condition going for £37500 and the independent garage was very open to haggle on my trade in. Ouch, Id imagine the dealer gave no more than £34000 to buy it in - serious depreciation for the first owner!

Can anybody who has recently bought one, tell me the Audi finance APR they were quoted please.

Didn't go with Audi finance in the end but i was offered 5.9% with 7k down 22.4 balloon and 498 pcm

We had an 8P Black Edition and I had an S3 with Silver grill and roof bars, window surrounds. To be honest either looks good but went for black pack 'stealth' look.. No regrets!

Well, after a long day writing emails back and forth etc etc, I have bought an RS3 but not the one I mentioned initially! That fell through after they wanted £500 on top to deliver the car!
I've ended up doing a deal with a local dealer on a Black Rs3, black styling pack, tech pack, dynamic pack, comfort and sound pack, reversing camera, privacy glass and black rotors.
Popping down tomorrow for a quick test drive and sign the paperwork.

Well pleased.

The first dealer can't be that desperate to sell the car. You're paying 40k + on a car, the least they could do was deliver it?
Glad you've got another one sorted.

That's what I thought, I even offered to go half at one point and they declined!
Hopefully after I've sorted this one in the morning,he'll contact me again looking for a deal,I'll have great pleasure in telling him I'm sorted thanks!!

Well, where do I start !!! At the beginning.

After sorting a deal over the phone and email on the second car yesterday (post 26) I set off with SWMBO at 9.30 this morning to go and test drive and leave a deposit etc. The salesman I had been dealing with told me he was weekend off so I asked him to give me the name of somebody to ask for when I arrived but I never got a reply, but never mind I thought.

I arrived and nobody had a clue I was coming, this irritated me. I then had to explain to a very young salesman what had been discussed so he then went off to find the paperwork, which he did, eventually. This irritated me. No I don't want a coffee can we just get on with it!

He showed me the paperwork and the figures were as discussed so he said he would run them through the manager, why?
He came back ten minutes later and the monthly payment had gone up by £65 a month, this irritated me!
Why I asked, the car is such and such a price,no it isn't it's this price as in the paperwork and what's in the windscreen.
At this point I asked to speak to the manager who reluctantly showed his face and tried to explain to me that the vehicle had been priced incorrectly and was in fact 2.5k more expensive. Why wasn't I told this yesterday when I said I would come in today to sign up I asked. I'm sorry, the salesman should have told you, but he didn't so what are you going to do about it? I asked.
I'm sorry, said Mr wet lettuce sales manager, I'll see if I can get the price down some more. He never showed his face again this guy but sent some young lad out on his behalf to say they could reduce the payments by another £30.

I asked for the dealer principles name and contact number and the sales managers details and stormed out looking for a cat or a sales manager to kick!

Now the good news!!!
I thought sod it and drove to my local dealership who in the past haven't been great on the deals front. I knew they had a Black one in the showroom so thought I'd go take a look, the spec said no Dynamic pack which was a deal breaker for me, so I asked if they had anymore.
Yes, we have a Mythos black, dynamic pack, super sport seats with red stitching, sound and comfort pack, tech pack, privacy glass, titanium rotors, high gloss pack and black roof rails........ Just what I'm after I thought.
I didn't mess about, said my budget and told them straight, get to it and I'll leave you a deposit now! Guess what, they did! After a lot of haggling.

I know everybody goes on about discounts or lack of,I have the paperwork in front of me and it works out at 9.5%!!

All being well, I collect on Friday, can't wait.
