Facelift Headlight Adaptor?

Hi, does anyone know of a headlight plug adaptor that will fit between my A4 old style round H4 headlight connector and the rectangular facelift Valeo connector?

Someone must make one of these?

I would rather have a plug 'n' play option than take off the plug and connect individual wires.

Any links or how to's appreciated.
 
I've just bought a pair of facelift Valeo OE headlights to which hopefully I'll fit an HID conversion kit and would be most interested to hear too if anyone can supply an answer/links to the above Q, have had a look on Audiworld but didn't find too much.......
 
i had exactly this issue, this is what i had to do:

1. purchase the correct plug from audi (this has no metal pins in it)
2. remove the metal pins and wire from an old iso block (stereo adapter), you need to get them from one of these as i couldnt find them anywhere else and audi do not sell them seperately(only part of a huge lomb thats expensive)
3. cut the old plug off the existing lomb noting which coloured wire controls which bulb/motor etc...
4. splice onto the existing lomb the wire/metal pins you removed from the ISO block.
5. push pins into the relevent hole in the new plug casing.
6. shoudl work now.

Please note, if you are not any good with car electrics/DIY do not even atempt to do this. Its not dificult, just time consuming and fiddly.

I now have the new style plug connected to the old wiring, looks stock.

If you want to do HIDs then you will also need to cut a small groove in the bottom of the headlamp rear cover as it has its own wiring which is pretty thick.

Having searched on this site for info I came across a plug Part No 8D0 973 734, is that the one thats needed?

cant help on the part number as i threw away the packaging ages ago, it should have room for 8 connections and is an elongated D shape.
 
Just an update, my lights have arrived and I've had a good look at the connections on the back........
I ordered the 8DO 973 734 connectors after a quick look on Etka and I can confirm they are a perfect fit onto the headlight................
Also enquired at the dealership about part number 000 979 133 that I came across after an internet trawl and the dealership confirmed that they fit the 8D0 housing perfectly....
000 979 133 is a short length of wire with a terminal at each end, cut each one in half and you have 2 'pins' to go into the new connector, as there are 8 pins in each headlight connector you need at least 16 of these 'pins'.
The wires are sold at 93p each in bags of 5 (ie will provide 10 pins) so I bought 2 bags of them.
Also realised that different connectors that go to the indicator are needed, the part number for the 2 pin housing required is 1J0 973 722 and these take the same wired pins as mentioned above.
Just am waiting for some decent weather now to do the light swap!
 
i wish there was a plug and play connector for this sort of thing, on my A3, i ended up wiring the dipped beam to the main beam by mistake, lol! :)

just waiting for some decent weather to get the car apart again.
 
I ended up using 4 bullet connectors on the end of the Valeo female connector, so that i could plug it directly into the main old style round headlight plug, and spade connectors for the adjuster motor connections + lots of insulation tape.

In this way all my old connectors are intact incase i change back to old style headlights in the future.

Just trying to figure out how to keep the HID low beam on when the full beam comes on?
 
my HID kit is on a relayed circuit, but it uses the internal H7 bulb connector on one headlight for the start up signal.
