8V VCDS Mods

Hi everyone, I am new to the site and Audi ownership (A3 2.0 tdi sport 181brake). There are a couple of these mods I'm interested in reverse screen on the display and needle sweep? Do the mods invalidate warranties? If they don't is there anyone in the Nottingham or Derby areas that can do the mods and how much will it cost? Thanks in advance Steve.
Any takers in the East Midlands area?

hey guys, I just got my car back from service and they wiped out some of my coding. so I'm in the process of recoding.

I have a question about this coding I had the first time.

ESC off with a touch of the button instead of holding down.

(03) ABS
(07) coding
long coding helper
byte 29

00 turns off everything with traction button. button does not respond and does not show anything.

02 ASR off/ ASR on
hold does nothing

03 ESC sport

04 ESC on/off

there are other combos to try out but I used 04.

I don't know why I cant code it now?
when I get to byte 29 I get nothing to choose from?

also I want to recode wiper valet mode. I don't know where the coding for that is anymore. does anyone have it?

  1. select STG 09 (vehicle power)
  2. STG Access Permission -> Function 16
  3. Enter access code 31347
  4. STG adjustment -> function 10
  5. Channel (13) -Frontscheibenwischer-menu control enable front wiper

Can the stereo volume at ignition on be increased at all? In my Golf it could be adjusted in the menu of the stereo, but I can't find that option in this car...

No I don't believe it can unfortunately.

as I keep playing with the vcds, I am beginning to think that all these possible adjustments can be done but only if the guys at Ross Tech adds them to the software.

so if I am correct then what we all need to do is post requests on ross tech site or at least email them of what we want to adjust on the car.

Tried with and without Byte 18 (Byte 18 is the MMI startup logo?) And does nothing to my system, after MMI reset, when pressing the "Talk" button, it still says "Talk Button for Speech Dialog System Not in Used", any ideas? Thanks!!

In the long coding screen, not the helper, cut and paste your code to the New Code box and then change the last two digits to 02, then select Do It.

No need to change Byte 18 unless you want to change your MMI Logo:

  • 00 = A3 (Audi MMI)
  • 01 = A3 (Audi MMI)
  • 02 = S3
  • 03 = RS3
Which version of VCDS are you using?

Thanks DJAlix, just tried that, still no go... Am using the latest non-beta 15.7.4 :(

Hello Hong Konger here

Since I am not sure what SDS stands for, does it mean the voice control of the MMI [the disabled top right buttons] or the start-up logo?

There are many other things disabled for A3s in Hong Kong

Speech Dialogue System :)

Thanks I dunno that can be activated without natvigation!!! Another system that would excites me (even more than a year picking up my car). It would be really helpful if voice dialing is enabled.

Thanks DJAlix for looking into it!!!! :)

Fatyin - It's not that Audi HK has things disable, it's the facts that they decided not to offer any options even for S/RS3... And SDS IS voice dialing too, that's what I'm trying to enable now...

Just tried that, didn't work, navi still says not installed and talk button says not used... :(

This is what I have so far by way of Interior Light Coding but I have no way of testing this myself

**Footwell lights MUST be LED. If normal bulbs are in use then Leuchte channels need changing for the correct voltage.
***Rear Door coding needs the use of the current VCDS v16beta. If still using v15.X and you are not wanting to install the current Beta you will need to add modules BB and BC to the CAN Gateway Installation List.

With
  • (6)-Ambient lighting-Innenlichtinszenierung = Installed (ambient lighting - interior lighting)
Enabled (not enabled by default) my door handle ambient lights are at full power and no longer linked to the dashboard illumination dimmer. Need to check out in more detail to make sure this is the only effect.

Is there a VCDS mod that remembers the Auto Start/Stop LAST setting instead of completely disabling it?

Is there a vcds mod that enables the wiper service mode switch in the MMI like my Q5 had?

I find it annoying when trying to clean the screen and needing to turn the key on /off and hold the wiper stalk down..

(I know,I know first world problems right here! )

Is TPMS sensors pre-built into every 8V???? You can just enable it with VCDS????
