Purple shed suspension parts

The Purple shed is in desperate need of a rear spring and shock absorber.

I would like to eventually fit sport shocks and springs at some point.

Few questions;

1, can I fit sport shocks with standard SE spring for time being? Or will the shock travel be too short? (Would replace both shocks now and fronts at a later date)

2, I've seen some cheap eBay crappy coilovers. These would do me as I'm only hoping to keep the car a year and not spend a fortune on her. Are these easy to fit and setup to get the car level?

3, eBay again has a set of lowering springs for around £80 with a 40mm drop. Anyone used a set of these on their car? I don't want a crashy ride but don't mine a bit of firmness.

4, I'm trying to delay doing the fronts as I need to save up for a control arm set. Might as well do the lot if I'm removing the front leg for the spring and shock change.

5, Does anyone have a set of springs/shock (SE or otherwise) for a 2000 1.9 tdi FWD Avant?

Does the pinch bolt need to come out if changing the front springs/shocks?

I might get some eBay springs and sport shocks from gsf.

The Pro Sport springs comes with 5 years warranty!! Maybe that's the deal breaker.

Hmm, found these Eibach springs with a 50mm drop all round. SE sits like a land-rover discovery, so maybe 50 mm over 40 mm is better?

I went with the Pro Sport springs in the end. The 5 year warranty swayed me. Will fit them.to the wife's car when I'm finished with the purple shed.
