Turbo upgrade to k04

I know i know we are all sick of seeing the title.

All i need to know is which manifold i need to find, or do i have to make a manifold to suit a k04 turbo off the 225 bam seat leon cupra r. The part number is 06A145704Q.

And it will be going onto an 8l a3 agu pre facelift.

I have seen heaps of posts saying that to go to this turbo you need a different manifold, but as far as i can see no one says which one. So is it oem or custom?

Also, i know i need oil and water lines aswell, but is that all? Does the downpipe need changing and would a samco tip for an aum suit the turbo?

Lots of ? 's i know, tell me to eff off if you like, just trying to get straight answers is all.

K04 manifold (not many choices.. OE or Relentless Pro4 is about it)
K04 coolant and oil lines

VR6 MAF housing
Suitable injectors
K04 downpipe
Mods to charge pipe (turbo in different position)
K04 TIP (not your AGU one)

You could just fit a K03 hybrid which will give similar or more power to a std K04

Luck of the irish to get someone prepared to tune it (or go Emerald like Prawn)

...and rods...

... and a new fuel pump as yours will be tired

Thank the lord for tuffty.

That was exactly what i needed.
I have already sorted/sourced all other items, my concern was the products for the turbo itself.

Couple more q's if you dont mind man.

The reason i am sking this, is i could get this turbo for 120 pounds but if i have to go through the trouble of custom manifolds and what not, i may aswell go big turbo right?

Sure the cost of the bt far exceeds the cost of the k04, but if i am doing everything else like manis dumps etc i see that as money well spent.

Am i looking at this right?
 
Pointless getting a custom mani built for a K04... as I said, OE K04 or Pro4 are essentially the only choices in this case...

Going BT is a different ballgame altogether... I suggest you read a few threads to work out what you want as the cost of going BT can spiral especially if you want it to last more than 5 minutes...

Budget will dictate what you can achieve but personally anything more than a K03 hybrid or K04 hybrid and realistically you need to start spending money on the engine first and I don't mean just rods...

There are plenty of threads covering this...

You don't have to go custom manifold, like Tuffty said a Pro4 is a good shout. I have a v3 as I got it before the Pro4 came out. All about the FLOW ;)
 
find someone to tune your agu ecu before embarking on spending on hardware, and check with them what they suggest it have on it to suit their mapping needs
