Hi all just a question about turbo upgrade I have a spare a4 b6 1.9tdi avant just sat there in the garage doing nothing and I also have a quattro 1.9tdi as my daily car. So I thought I might aswel make something of the one sat in the garage. So I've done some research on turbos but still undecided I've seen the majority of people running the bv43 which is an all round good turbo for daily etc, gtb2260vk which gives more top end power. And I've also seen people run the gt2052v of the 2.5tdi v6 engine but I haven't seen much write ups about the 2.5tdi turbo been out onto the 1.9's. I'm not bothered about doing fabrication work i.e. Making new manifold etc etc as I'm a fabricator by trade. I've already got fmic to go on and I've already made half of my stainless pipe work for the fm. I've got a 2.25" straight through stainless exhaust to go on but I've also seen people running 2.5" to 3" so if it makes the car run better and gets more power with bigger diameter exhaust I'll make a new one. So has anyone got any other options and opinions about what turbo etc to run?
Cheers

Doesn't sound like you need much help from us haha, 3" exhaust isn't necessary unless your pushing 300bhp+ which won't come without allot of lag. The BV43 is the easy option really as it's just the turbo which is swapped (from a 170bhp 2.0tdi), all other turbo's will need manifold and possibly more but if that's ok it's probably best to check out Darkside and basically mimic the parts they use in their turbo kits http://www.darksidedevelopments.co.uk/darkside-turbo-kits/.

If the fabrication's being done by yourself but not the mapping it's best to budget £400+ for that too, regular mapping places generally won't touch it.
