Hi not new to this forum but new to this section. Almost bought an S3 last year but had to cancel the order for reasons out of my control.

Anyway, as it turns out it seems like that was a good thing as now I get to have my dream car, a Sepang Blue SQ5.
I'm based in West Yorkshire but am prepared to travel to get 'a good deal'. Can anybody recommend a good dealership and also advise me on what options I should go for? I have a rough idea but any advice will be welcome.

Thanks

Being typically British, I am no good at haggling/getting a good deal.

I'm putting an order for a S5 next week and managed to get a very good discount (higher than I was managing by myself anyway) by going thought CarWow.co.uk. There are other similar sites like orangewheels.co.uk and a quick look of the SQ5 without any options suggested a discount of £3,505. I would use that as your starting point.

I found CarWow was good as you get the offers straight from the dealerships, so you don't have to go through the website at all. Both times, the dealership that was offering the highest discount was far, but my local dealership was great in matching it so it made it ideal.

Sorry I don't know the specs of the SQ5 well, but obviously options are pretty subjective. I would spec out what you want on the configuration, match it on CarWow and see what offers you get.

Good luck! SQ5 is a stunning car btw. Test drove one a while back and really liked it. Most likely get a Q5 when I need the extra space.

Thanks,
Being a Yorkshireman I am genetically programmed to haggle!
Filled out the form on OW, now we wait. looking forward to the grunt of the V6 BiTDI. Drove the S5 to Le Mans last year btw, great car but quite thirsty.

Good stuff. Would advise CarWow as well for the fact that's it's direct from the dealers. Don't know what it's like going through orange wheels and know dealers were more reluctant to match deals from there. Typically got higher discounts too!

Yea I'm coming from a A5 2.0tfsi and that was ok on fuel. I don't do huge miles so happy to pay for the V6. Very excited :)

Just on CW now. will be interesting to see the difference.

I sold my SQ5 last month after having it for a year and ordered an S5. The SQ is a very good car just didn't quite do it for me and I missed petrol power but for the size and weight it is quick and not bad on economy too, you shouldn't be disappointed.
A lot of people seem to say heated seats are a must especially in resale terms. Then for me was nav, adaptive lights, memory seats, auto folding mirrors, power tailgate, 21" wheels, privacy glass and flat bottom steering wheel.
I think the 21's do add to the look of the car but they are a bit noisier and harsher ride than on the standard 20's.
I am also on MyAudiQ5 forum and people on there seem to be saying up to 12.5% discount on new orders is currently available.
Also Sepang is a great colour.
Hope you manage to get a deal.

Hello there Nick! 12% sounds like a good target.

What colour S5 you order again? It was sepang as well wasn't it?

Yep using carwow is good managed to get my local dealer to pretty much match the best price for the S5 which was about 18% discount.
I do quite a lot of miles and manged 33 average in the SQ hoping for 28 in the S5 so not massively different, although now diesel is cheaper than petrol it makes a bigger difference!

Initially OW seem to be offering around 7% but I'm sure by the time I order next week it will be much better.

Hi mate, yes around 12% seems to be what most people are getting which is good.

Yes Sepang same as you right? Saw an S5 Coupe in Sepang on the M1 this morning and all I could think was

Hopefully you will be able to get some more off especially with carwow as Dr E says it's direct from dealers. Coventry Audi seem to come up quite a bit as being the cheapest but I have heard mixed reviews on them.

Yea going for Sepang I think! Unless I change my mind last minute and go for Daytona...

Yea Coventry was where my highest discount came from. Should be higher than 7% from them mate

Also forgot, best to spec Audi Drive Select to make the most of the sound actuator.

What is the ride like on 20'' wheels?

I only test drove it on the 20's and it was fine but I opted for the 21's as they looked much better and it can be a bit harsh and seemed a bit noisier. Although I think double glazed windows are now standard so I guess that would help with noise. A bit annoying you can't spec. damper control or magnetic ride.

Would agree with everything said so far. I came from a 8V S3 and the ride of my SQ5, even on 21's is still much better than the S3. Privacy glass is a must if not already specced and I have the piano black inserts on the dash and doors which IMHO adds to the quality of the interior. Loving the car after 4 months of ownership and getting great mpg (42 plus on a motorway run) which is even better now diesel is coming down in price. I also belong the MyAudiQ5 forum and the general view is not to bother with super diesel - the car still goes like stink on regular derv. Enjoy your purchase. P.S. I bought mine from Harrogate Audi and it might be worth giving them a try. The Yorkshire and Humberside sub-group on here are also a great bunch of folks and I would encourage you to join us - you would be very welcome.

Don't know exactly what happened but my Q7! I repeat Q7 is scheduled for build week 44. Never go car shopping with SWMBO.

Well good choice mate. I like the new Q7 plus the tech is good. What spec you gone for?
Not too long wait either.

I went for the SE spec in Diamond Beige. I wanted grey but like I said, I went shopping with SWMBO!

Cool, look forward to the pics. Luckily I get the say in our cars even the wife's haha she isn't really interested in them and doesn't drive many miles a week so as long as it gets her about she isn't bothered.
