Looks great Bud, welcome back to money pit ownership. :)
Ha! Never really had any problems with my old one apart from the dreaded losing first and second gear! Will have to wait and see about the new one

It's completely standard to the point that even the shocks have never been changed! It's just had a stage 1 not necessarily for speed, but because I think they make the car a lot more drivable and the way it should of been from factory. Other then that I'm just going to replace all the worn suspension parts for new original ones and because I'm a paint sprayer I'm going to repaint it bit by bit on the weekends. I may paint the wheels back to original silver one day as well.

Sounds excellent and it be more enjoyable as you doing the work yourself. We would love to see more pics when your done, or even during progress. Have fun. :) x

Fitting new strut today

Take off drop link

Getting the strut out of the hub was a nightmare!! Defo taking the ball joint out next time! Good job the S3 has wide arches for swinging the hammer

Back on all bolted up....now the other side

I'm just going through changing them, I changed the front struts today and there was nothing wrong with the old ones. It does feel a little better now if I'm honest.

At least change the wheels, standard are a bit pants, but if standard is your thing, then why not?

I'm a bit old now to be buying alloy wheels for my car plus I like the original ones. It rides loads better on the 17's then it does on the 18's

Fitted the last of the new drop links today. New rear shocks to be fitted at the weekend

Fitted the new rear struts today

Old ones looked like they'd never been changed before

New ones on and bolted up, nice easy job

Ordered some fitted mats off of eBay and they came with this BS on it!!!!!

Problem solved

Nice fitting mats with S3 embroidered on them in a variety of colours are only £39 on eBay.

Fitted the uprated dogbone bushes today, it's made a huge improvement to the drivetrain of the car, the whole thing feels a lot tighter.

The old ones weren't in bad shape at all.

Can kind of understand when people talk about vibration but it's very minimal. To be honest you wouldn't notice it if it was your first time in the car. I can only assume that people are over tightening the bolts because going off of torque settings, you don't need to tighten them much at all. Considering the price and how easy it was, it's a very worth while mod.

Sorted some yellow fog lights. Not sure I'm a fan, I think I'll put it back to standard but I thought I'd still put the pictures up just in case anyone else was thinking of doing it

Got myself some service parts. Also noticed that the cam chain tensioner seemed a little noisy when cold so I've purchased a new pick up pipe. Hoping that this will help, to be fair it's due a service anyway so it can't hurt

Another job done.....to be honest it wasn't that bad but even though it had only done about 4kmiles since its last service the oil was like **** water. Its made a huge difference to how quiet the engine is now.

any pics of what you found in the sump ?
No forgot to to take some because i was covered in oil. It actually wasn't bad, no sludge just a few bits of dipstick. The worst thing was the oil. I think it's only been doing short journeys because it can go like water and smell like petrol so it sounded really tapitty. It was serviced about 4K miles ago but I've no idea what oil was used. New oil has made it super quiet now and sounds like a different car

Some great work and updates there mate, keep up the good work :)
