Well, let's see if I can keep this one more then 6 months.
So far history tell's me this will be a struggle, as the 2 previous A4's have only lasted 6 months in my household. However my Subaru has lasted 13 years and still going......

1st Audi 2.0 TFSi 54 Plate B7, Quattro Avant

This was running close to 100,000 miles and purchased based on being told they run forever. However, a niggling very minor misfire @ 2,000rpm could not be solved after many sensor, coilpack and plug swaps.
Frustration got the better of me, along with not being used to running such a high mileage car and I decided to P-Ex for a SEAT Leon FR PD170 (car was spotted whilst purchasing a SEAT Ibiza for the wife).
This then got BTCC bodykit and 19 inch RS4 style wheel treatment, along with an AMD remap.
This was a great car, although a little too torquey for a FWD on the remap.

After 18 months I wanted a change and considered the SEAT Leon Cupra R. However, I felt that this would be getting a little too close performance & image wise to my weekend Garage Queen (Modified Subaru Impreza), which I have now owned for 13 years.

So, as the price of the Cupra's I was looking over grew and grew I realised I was well into 2-3 year old Audi A4 territory.
After sitting inside and realising what a great place it was a Audi A4 Black Edition, 120PS was purchased.

Initially the 120PS felt fine, and to be honest around town it was. It had a surprising amount of torque.
However, outside of town you soon began to realise it was lacking, almost embarrassing for such a great/sporty looking car.

Several attempts to get the 120PS remapped from several big named/well known tuners failed !!!!
It was assumed to be something to do with it being a B8.5 and revised ECU calibrations/locks.

After several months, a few long wasted journey's and enthusiasm dropping the S4 model started calling for my attention. However, the MPG wasn't !!! having just run a Diesel and an under-powered 120PS Petrol for the last 24 months.

Power over-ruled economy when an ADS equipped car turned up locally(ish).
After a spirited drive a deposit was placed, but 24 hours withdrawn, thinking I wanted a B8.5 instead of the B8.

However, an international search over the following 2 weeks came up with 'nothing with ADS' this side of £30K. Therefore I returned to the dealer with the B8 hoping it was still available.
Thankfully their books still had my name against the car, so it had not gone back up for sale.
Deposit placed, for the 2nd time, and collected 4 day's later

Important Specification bit's :
  • Leather/Alcantara Electric Seats (not a fan of full leather)

Looking good!

2 points on your mod list list I'd like to comment on Scott.

1. Match Tyres - Good to see people are finally coming around to this, wher rates are not as important but compunds are when it comes to a 4WD system and the best way to match compounds is keep all 4 tyres the same.

2. Interior Replace - I have piano black in my RS and I wish I had gone with my 1st choice but I wanted something different form my last S4. That had carbon and I loved it, I went black because IMHO its a bit more classy but I wish I hadn't, its a pig to keep dust free, a real pain in the rear. My replacement for this B8.5 RS4 will be either B9 RS4 or RS6 and neither will have Black Piano inlays, I'll go back to carbon.

p.s. I hate the dealer plates too, and the crappy surrounds they put on, 1st thing I swapped out after taking delivery.

I agree on the Piano black TBH, it was tuff to keep dust free in the B8.5. I even ended up with a little duster in the door pocket. Just not keen on the aluminium, as the black looked a lot classier. I will be adding D-Trim's though (http://www.osirusa.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=A4B8-DTRM&Category_Code=S4B8IA), as they will lift it a touch closer to a B8.5.

I've discovered Koch Chemie Refresh Cockpit Care, it has an anti-static quality which helps with the dust. OSIR don't do the D-trims for the B8.5 but they do look good on the B8. Have you seen these in the flesh Scott or just the website?

Only seen the image above.
The B8.5 already has chrome surrounds.

Loving the new S4 @Scott.T :thumbs up:
Love the new thread buddy ;)

New plates with a little reference to 'Quattro'

And the compulsory 'Supercharged' badge (to be swapped for Aluminium ones, as not 100% happy with finish on this plastic repo')

Sounds like you have a nice set of plans for the S4

Lovely motor :)

Lol, aluminium foot pedals, the B8 doesn't come with them, you can buy Q5 covers which fit in 5mins
Phew! For a minute there I thought you were showing us your new jeans

Will do, as the current rubber brake pedal squeaks on my trainers

Details please.
Are these OE or pattern parts.
Footrest as well ?
Got them a while back from amazon I think. They are OEM and about £60 I think, the footrest was £100 something from memory so couldn't justify that. If you search for footrests on this forum you should find details on here, probably another one of my posts lol

Are the plate from Fancy Plates Scott? Mine are very similar.
Yes mate they are.
I have been using them for years, although this is the 1st car in some time that has had to have a full size plate on the front.

Any excuse for a clean.....took a wheel off to check size and offset as thinking of changing them for Rotor's.
However, they are in such nice condition it seems criminal.

This is how the rear face looked after a splash for Bilberry, Autoglym tar remover and a quick coat of cheap wax/polish (I didn't want to use my normal bodywork stuff). Took about 10 minutes.

Was starting to run out of daylight, so this image isn't great. Front face just got a splash of Bilberry, rinse and dry.

I think they must of been re-furbed at some point as they are 5 years old, but I can't find any certain evidence as such.
A few minor chips on the front face, but you really have to search for them, would indicate they have done at least a couple of years worth of the 27,500 miles.
The only marks on the rear are from tyre fitting machines.

Size is as expected (and the same as the Rotors on my previous B8.5) at 19x8.5 ET43.

So what do I do :
  • Re-colour Anthracite (to give it an RS4'esk, but in-keeping look)
  • Sell and fit Rotors 19x8.5 ET35 (to modernise the car a bit)
They seem to be quite valuable, and the tyres have 5-6mm front, 4-5mm back. So maybe sell and put towards new Rotors and New Conti's ?

Other option maybe to keep your wheels, buy rotors and use a set for winter and the other for summer?

Thought it was about time I showed Scooby it's new stablemate.

That's a serious little pair of rockets mate. Any car enthusiast would be proud to own them.

Cheers.
There's about 5bhp & 10ftlb difference between them.
But obviously the Subaru is a touch lighter ;)

Thing about OEM rotors is that the have hollow spokes. Replicas won't so they'll be very heavy.

I'm not convinced the rotors are hollow as I have only seen the 'option/accessory' wheels that are rotor style with larger diamond cut segments advertised as hollow.

I don't mind my tyres being hollow. Not so sure about the wheels being hollow.
When you have a look at the width/depth of the spoke the hollow bit must be a knats dangly bit thick.

They might be cast so the thicker part of the spoke is hollow, not necessarily all the way along the spoke to the centre.

Love those wheels, sod the tyre price though, must be close to £1k?
Just under £600 for 4 Dunlop which is probably what I'll go for as they have good rim protection.
Or about £250 for yingyong rubber.
