What have you done today?

Samurai how did you get the badge and surround off the grille? Im after doing that with mine at some point.

the safest way is to take it off the bumper, but I did it with a screwdriver slowly and carefully goes

after acquiring some LCR brembo's and refurbing them i have finally got round to fitting them after having them sitting in my garage for 2-3 months. alot easier job than i thought.

Are standard s3 brake lines compatible with lcr brembo caliper?

@S3HGV no i bought a set from Bill at Badger5 - they are top quality, exactly the right size and fit spot on.

the difference between the standard S3 brakes and the Brembo's is night and day, S3's used to fade after 1-2 heavy braking. Brembo's just keep on braking.

Lol, the standard setup was poor for a stage1 powered S3, but they was never this bad when I tracked it on standard brakes! After 2 laps of driving perhaps, but not after 1-2 applications, not unless you was doing 150 and braking to 20mph twice in a row anyways...

maybe i was over exaggerating slightly, but after some normal braking then some 80 or 90mph to 20mph for a hairpin then back up to 90mph before another tight corner they were ******. nurburgring was no fun on standards with mintex pads.

They are suppose to be good enough to lap the ring in standard form on road tyres. But once you have stage1 power, you would have push the limits of them, so an upgrade would be required.

Found some of my modelling paint when clearing out junk today, thought I would give the s3 badge on the steering wheel a touch up

Fitted my Milltek catback system, changed fuel filter and pollen filter, did my N249 delete (fiddly as hell under the inlet manifold!)

Did a full detail inside and out! :)

Now currently designing an custom airbox for a cone filter. Inspired by Shwartza3's amazing work! Oh and drinking a brew

JoJo where did you order your 3" DP from? I'm looking at getting 3" DP and sportcat next month.

G60go - did you keep your fog lights with the Wagner intercooler? Looks nice and stealthy!

I did mate yes,the Wagner one fits perfect,no cutting of anything required at all and u can keep the fogs! I can show u pics if u like?

Yeah I'd really appreciate pics if you can mate. Looks like a bigger surface area to the airtec one I've been looking at too!

@g60go where did you find that Wagner intercooler? I can't find it on their site...

*edit* never mind, I'm just blind, found it now

how did you remove the badge?

Also i got rid of my forever on ESP light by doing the steering angle sensor re-learning as per ross-tech instructions *breath of relief* that it's not something more costly. who knew a (vagcom) cable could be so handy

I blew my first ever boost hose! was driving up the a38 towards Exeter going to BHP Fuel Festival, went to over take a van and lost all power and the dash lit up like a Christmas tree >.<. Thankfully it was a easy one, the hose coming off the top of the turbo, it's now got 2 JCS hi-grips on it seeing as 1 didn't quite cut it.

The worst bit about it was i was cruising up with a local club so everyone saw it :fearscream:

It's happened to the best of us! At least it was just a blown hose, not a blown engine! :)

Blown engine was my first thought! never had my car go in to full on limp mode before, and everything on the dashboard lit up (apart from the check engine light for some reason!) not to mention the big "bang" that happened when it did go pop. i was expecting to see a big hole somewhere and a puddle of oil. never quite been so relieved!

yesterday i collected 9 tt comp wheels for the track s3
a lot lighter than my 6 spoke tt wheels and ill maintain an oem look which suits me until i learn to drive!!! :)

Yesterday I fitted my Vibratechnics engine mounts, road version. NVH is right on the edge of acceptable, I hope it settles down after a while...

They did make one hell of a difference to the car though! *chuffed*

out of interest, how come you didn't paint the intercooler black?

the colour black absorbs and gives off heat better than any other colour, making it a good choice for intercoolers

Didn't really want to paint over the cores so I just left it how it was.

Ordered some tie arms, also got a new external water pump :)
