Hi guys, can any of you recommend some good quality rubber for the DTM as need 2 replace all 4 soon :( think they are 235/40/18 have used Goodyear Eagles on other cars but have read that they are not recommended for the quattro so any help will be much appreciated, I know this question gets asked a lot but can't find any positive answers.

I use Dunlop sport max RT on mine and i'm very pleased with them, seem to last well on my Quattro.

Why are Goodyear Eagles not recommended for the Quattro, I have them on my car and they are just fine.

Just got a quote for £510 on some pilot sport 3's all 4 fitted so not that bad never had a set of them before so not sure what they are like.

Fitted some medium priced Arrowspeed's (yeah yeah, no need to laugh!) to mine as I bought new DTM wheels for my Quattro, so funds were a little depleted.
I do around 1500 miles a month on country roads, I don't (usually) drive like a d!ck and managed to get 20,000 miles from them on my three previous cars (all Vauxhalls).
They're good in the wet - better than the Michelin Pilots that were on the car, I'd say (but the Pilots weren't anywhere near new), and grip well with only 74dB noise rating.
Cost me £300ish for 4.

Don't know, I just went to the Audi.co.uk site and had a look for tyres for my car and the Eagle F1 is there

Just something I've read on this site when searching for tyre info in the past. I've never used the asymmetric Eagles but on my old car the Eagle F1's we're great (big V grooves)

You possibly had pilot/ pilot sports on there which have been super ceeded by super sports which sadly they dont make in our size. But they were more for dry weather as its a softer compound and offer more grip.

And the reason you would get 20k miles out of the arrows is because they are a lot harder compound. Like most of the made in china tyres they will last longer.

The F1's I has were gsd3 not the asymmetric but don't think they are still available :( will probably go with the pilot sport 3's

Very good choice. You will not be disappointed at all. But the price I think is over the top.

One of 2 options I could suggest if you are a member of costco they always do deals on michelins or ask a friend as they mostly been offering cash back so if yourself or friend has a membership just ask him to give u the cash and you can give him the vouchers.

Number 2 order it from the places mentioned above ie tyre leader, cam skill etc.

For sure can be done for under £500 for sure. Id say £400 - £450 is a place budget to aim for.

The GSD3 was an entirely different tyre to the current Eagle F1, Only the F1 bit of the name links them.

Uniroyal Rainsport 3 on my S4 and they feel good. If you live in a very wet area of the country then these should suit you, I didn't buy them myself, they were fitted new just before I bought the car.

Have any of you used Kumho ku39 ecsta?

Nokian Z lines are another great tyre. They're a great all rounder, and still rated as the top max performance tyre on tyre reviews website

£360 for a set of 4 delivered. Bargain lol, and they arent cheap budget tyres either, Nokian are a top brand!

Both inner sides , hadn't fully gone . But scary none the less .

Exactly the same experienced (with pictures) on Ford and Seat forums so not a one off .

Neither a puncture or under inflation come in to the equation.

i drove them like 20k miles now - i have 3mm left on them without any damages or problems :) If your dad do not look on the road the potholes is different story :) I have my KU39's for 90 quid fully fitted so can't go wrong with them ! Vredestei Sessanta is good choise as well as i have them before on my B5 ... they were as good as Kumho's

Don't mean to start a controversy, but I just simply can't justify the price tag on the F1 eagles, Michelins, Pirrelis etc..
especially since the considerably cheaper Toyos, Falkens, and my current Vredesteins last & perform just as well...

No potholes either were entertained , like I said earlier it's happened to others .

This poor Kum and Go brand will never be entertained by anyone in the family.

Dad opted for what was else was on the car and got a set of 4 of a more superior tyre , MPS3 you actually get a decent rim protector with these instead of KU39's silly 3.5 mm.

No comparison to make in terms of quality, people choose Kum and Go because they are CHEAP.

Which one would everyone else choose between these two ? ?

Kum and Go KU39 or
Michelin Pilot Sport 3 ?

Well I already know the answer to that .

That is fair - from your point they are cheap rubbish from mine - they are middle range and perfect value for the money which i paid ! You are 100% right about the protector for the rims and because i will need tires soon may be will try something else ! Otherwise i'm happy with them !
GUYS LOOK THE DOT of the tyres ! He is so important ! The last two digits of the DOT mark shoud be this year ;) !

Think I'm gonna go with the mps3's just gotta find the best place 2 get them lol
