F1 season 2015

Gotta be you being funny Jojo as with Hamilton living in Monaco as a Monegasque and not paying UK National Insurance and or TAX you can't be serious about 'he's worth every penny' unless you really meant Euro or Dollar or Yen maybe but you can't be serious about a 'penny'

Thank you for the correction, worth every 'whatevercurrencyhesbeingpaidin' then! :D

It was a ridiculous call from Mercedes to bring Lewis in, but Lewis needs to start thinking for himself.

IMO it was 100% Hamilton’s fault, just over 10 laps to go in Monaco you don’t come in for tyres!

In Monaco if the team called him in, he should have stayed out (his fault)
If he called to come in (his fault)

Decision to bring him in was both their faults (teams and his). Radio transmissions between Hamilton and Pit wall were confused with VSC and SC period. When they called him in under VSC the 24 second lead he had would have given him enough time to get in and out of the pits. Unfortunately this changed when it went to full SC. The gap came down as Rosberg and Vettel could up their pace to catch the SC but Hamilton couldn't as it picked him up just out of the Swimming Pool. The gap that was 24 sec was reduced to 16 sec thus not enough time. The Team should have realised this as the data was in front of them and was changing and they could see Rosberg was catching yet no one made the decision to keep him out. Verdict, both their faults. Hamilton should have known that track position was key and stayed out and the team shouldn't have been as naive and kept him out. A monumental f**k up that should have been easily avoided.
Anyway he can still afford this......

My three wishes for next weekends Montreal GP.

1. Lewis Hamilton to win it and get his Championship back on track.
2. Maldonado to qualify last! :D
3. Maldonado to finish the race! :D:D

I think you have a chance of 2 out of 3 of those wishes, Number 3 will be the most difficult.
Even if Hamilton was 40 seconds in front at Monaco. A pit stop can go wrong, stuck wheel nut, engine stalls, wrong tyres fitted, wheel nut not tightened properly all of which could mean he would have lost the lead. There really was no reason to pit.

What would be interesting jojo would be to see Hamilton and Maldonado swap cars and see how good Hamiton is/was: for me they're both mistake prone but only one of these has managed a MEGA ****-up while leading at Monaco, and more than once, and gone on to blame everyone else...

My guess is Rosberg will get the same dummy steering wheel just 3-minutes before the start in Canada and Hamilton a new box of toys...

PS: how you going with that S3 re-build?

Your S3's far more important/interesting/relevant than whatever Hamilton's doin' and/or wherever Hamilton may be doin'it...

My 3 wishes..

Just to make it interesting..
1. Lewis to start from the back, just to watch him do a 3 stopper and blitz back through the pack! :racer:

2. Vettel to do some genuine overtaking ( what we all still waiting to see)

3 ...and have the Grid Boys back just for Sandra and Jojo

Sebastian Vettel has been handed a five-place grid penalty after being found to have passed Roberto Merhi's Marussia while under red flags in FP3 in Canada.

Let's see what he can do from there, he's got a good car under him :)

Unbelieveable race Maldanado scotred some points, whats going on. Mnd you Grosjean managed to crash losing out on some points, Is he taking over from Maldanado ? .
Mercedes only 30 seconds in front at the end.
Great drive from Vettel finishing just 10 seconds behind Riakonnen.

Some great racing through the field by a few drivers today. But I can't help wondering if McLaren are playing the "reliability" card to implement upgrades that would otherwise cost them tokens? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't remember either driver complaining about anything other than a lack of power and high fuel consumption today, yet both retired???

I think you will find that the kind of changes they can make for reliability won't give them any more performance particularly. They are policed quite strictly by the FIA, I think Honda have just got it horribly wrong with the engiine, as Jensen said because there car is slow on the straight it has to run full throttle for longer so uses more fuel. They are probably putting the same fuel in as the Mercs but getting 10-15% less power.
I am sure they are just going to use this entire year as a glorified test session really. And hopefully arrive next year with a car that has a chance of getting on the podium.

Good drive from Massa and Vettle coming from the back, but it’s only to be expected really.

Vettle’s drive wasn’t without incident, nearly taking out Alonso twice and then cutting the corner to pass Hulkenberg :rulez:

Lewis lights to flag :racer::yahoo:

Don’t understand why Nico after the last pit stops, didn’t get within one second to Lewis for DRS, he was only just .1 outside?
I think Mercedes just brought the cars home from after the last pit stop… disappointing for us!

You kind of get the feeling that Honda saw it as taking over from where they left off with the previous turbo engines when they totally ruled the roost.

Things have changed and although their axial turbo was a radical move from even Merc's solution, the current engine sounds like a bag of (expensive) bolts and runs like a dog.

I was waiting for you Spooky just didn't want to fire the first shot!

Canadian Grand Prix Race Review: 18th to 5th and then only 4.3-seconds behind his teammate Kimi Raikkonen by the man who can't overtake; well done Sebastian...

No comment on Mercedes other than the 'team' did a typically superb job and controlled the race well: you've fuel problems 'Hamilton' and oh by the way your brakes are getting hot Nico so hang back some "and you can attack later"; yeh, right...

But from this event (I did a replay as watching Wiggins do the 1-hour on his own was for me going to be more exciting by far) comes a thought; and as the drivers are asking: what makes a race interesting is racing, so, once all of the preliminaries have been done, practice 1, 2, and 3, and then qualifying; when the drivers go out on the grid formation lap they should each take a numbered ball from a suitable bucket and line up according to whatever number they pick.

Ban blue 'a faster car is approaching so move aside and allow the cars(s) to pass' flags.

Love you 'man' but are you serious, HELLO!!! Hamilton on $X000000 and Nico on $X00: you cannot be serious: it was stage managed (as Monaco showed) and I'm ok with that but we/you just need to accept it; as I do...

We need a grid hand picked from a bucket!

Mr. Sebastian Vettel, my (current) Hero, showed what makes F1 racing FUN! to watch. And if that doesn't grab you then follow the race this weekend where cars of different ideology compete against one an other on the same track over the same period of time i.e., 24-hours.

I mean; Hamilton goes out on a set of intermediates and, in the rain, stuffs it into the first 'soft' barrier he can find is/was pathetic! I mean, seriously pathetic...

Ok, so no body told Hamilton it was raining; yeh, right!

Any F1 race is a combination of so many factors and the race, following the preceding practice and qualifying can be incidental and that this years (and last) is proving to be

2015 F1 season has to be the most synthetic yet; and I though 2014 was bad: at least when the Red Bulls were racing you could be sure they were racing but now it's like well I'll be following you Lewis and if you've got a problem with fuel then I'll have a problem with whatever: yeh, right...

At least that groundhog kept honest and got out of the way...

24-hours of Le Mans this weekend and I've me sleeping bag in front of the telly waitin'...

Wouldn't be doing that for F1.

I know well where you're coming from but the technology in F1 is HUGE! Think about it: the Mercedes duo has 1.6 engines that have now done SIX Gran Prix events and didn't need changing for the Canadian meet; the Team chose to have new units...

I was fortunate to fly/travel back from Tokyo many years ago with a Honda F1 engineer and we talked (loosely, yeh, right...) for hours about the forth coming Honda V10 (Senna) motor: the dedication that man demonstrated to that 'V10 motor' was mind boggling awesome for me; I'll never forget that JAL flight...

In truth, theres a nano second between any of these guys, but Hamilton has zero respect for anyone other than Hamilton

I like Vettel; have I said that before? Spooky isn't it... Know so little about the guy and yet....

Bottas is not the complete driver people think he is! he was having serious problems with the tricky conditions today, before the rain got heavier - even calling for inters before they were justified. Ferrari already have one driver in Kimi that isn't sensitive enough with the throttle in changeable conditions, do they really want to swap one for another?

Bit harsh there, didn't Bottas fight his way into 2nd in the same race last year? The truth is, the Williams is poor when its wet!

Best race of the year so far..

I did think Bottas made it easy or made a mistake just after getting in front of the Mercedes off the line, going wide and Lewis only needed a sniff and was through.

After the safety car I do think Williams could and should have made more of Hamilton's error, when ones again Williams was P1 and 2.
Bottas was much quicker than Massa, releasing him could have got Williams on the podium, or maybe a win!

How was your day @jojo , any photos?
