Sorry @razza1 . At least I now get a clearer picture of what's changed over the years on the S4. I find the standard level of kit quite good.

Lol, just tell them your the customer and you always right. If they would communicate more through the order process you wouldnt need to phone them, they should phone or email you on a regular basis. :) x

Can someone clear up something that's rattling around in my head about phone connectivity, please?

My car will have Bluetooth, AMI and phone prep low. If I connect my iPhone to the AMI using the supplied lead, the phone can sit in the glove compartment, being charged, yes? Meanwhile, I can connect it using Bluetooth. Surely that means I don't need to buy a phone prep cradle, doesn't it?

Just checked, and I'm still status code 10 with provisional build week of 24. I've emailed my sales lady to see if she'll sling in an iPhone 5S cradle FOC.

Jeff, my dealer told me the only advantage was an enhanced signal only. Also I didn't want to lose my valuable 'storage of all my cr@p that I rarely use - space' taken up by the cradle:confused:

Also, it's a bargaining chip. If she says no, I'll say "ok, how about some mudflaps instead?"

You don't need a phone cradle. And you also don't need phone prep low (which I thought you couldn't even spec on an S4) as bluetooth is standard.

I thought you were ordering phone prep high...?

I traded that down to low to pay for hill hold assist and main beam assist.

Spoke to Audi CS again today; still provisional BW24 and still not yet locked.

I don't get that, especially when @alzce's order (which he placed after mine) is now locked at BW25.

Took the dog for a walk this afternoon, "just happened" to wander past Bexley Audi (as you do). Whilst loitering to look up and down a 62-reg S4 saloon on the forecourt, I was accosted by my sales lady with the news that my car has moved to status code 20, with guaranteed BW24, i.e, the week commencing 8 June. Not sure who was more pleased, me or her, now that she knows I can't change the spec any more.

Hate to point this out now your spec is frozen, but where's the dog going to go? Too late to switch to an Avant? :blink:

Just spoken to Bexley Audi. My car is being built next week, and they now expect to receive it before the end of June.

We're now working towards a provisional handover date of Wednesday 1 July. :yahoo:
