What have you done to your 8V today?

Had the bootlid catch replaced under warranty - well, earlier in the week. Alarm had been going off at odd times and fault was traced to the tailgate.
Interesting coincidental benefit was the loan of a 1.6 tdi A3 sport for a couple of days. Expected it to be desperately underpowered, but once I'd got used to the slightly different response of the diesel engine I found it quite punchy. This car also had sport suspension, which I could have lived with, SD satnav, which I found surprisingly good despite the adverse comments on here, auto dimming rear mirror, which was very effective and electric lumbar support, which I could definitely get used to!
Oh - and the alarm has definitely settled down now. Peace restored with neighbour.

I have the 1.6 TDI s-tronic Sport and love it. As you say very punchy low down. It has same torque as the 150bhp 2.0. Obviously it tapers off a lot faster but up to motorway speeds it's perfect for my daily commute. Seats are super comfy for my crumbling lumbar spine with the extendable under thigh support an essential. :kissmyrings::icon thumright:

I was a little hesitant when ordering as I really wanted the 1.4TFSI S-Tronic but when I drove it in sport mode and returned 55mpg I was sold. It gives a few people a surprise as the lights go green. :undwech:

Wrapped the splitter part of the grill, impressed with the results :thumbs up:

Definitely gives it a meaner loook

:( Had one of those long boring days at work and lacking motivation.:(

@MA3RC your wrapping skills are coming along nicely! :)

Today I drove to wales just for the hell of it (~300miles). Almost got stuck ontop of the barrens with some very narrow roads, had to reverse back down one as I didn't want brambles scratching the car. Saw lots of sheep, had a burger and went home again

Wrapped my grill and fog surrounds in high gloss black, attempted the chrome around the windows, but it just ended in me getting stressed out, it's such a faff to get right. Think I may take it to a pro to get them done. Anyway here's some pics:

When the weather improves I'm going to also attempt the splitter under the grill

This looks quite nice, what product did you use?

Went for an ice cream with the Mrs and kids, fairly spirited drive there :) got back to the car to find what can only be described as an entire populations worth of giant terradactyl crap all over the car, I only cleaned and detailed it on Saturday! Fuming quick blast with the jet wash once I got home, will have to wait until the weekend for another detailing sesh.

I looked at mine............

Parked mine in a Tesco carpark today!!

Anyone guess where the Tesco was?
04May Tesco

I'm going to hazard a guess at somewhere in Wales.

I'm going to hazard a guess at somewhere in Wales.

Guessing a country is not specific enough. :lick:

By the way I love the way the wheels at both front and rear are oriented the same and point up. :encouragement:

Just noticed your name, didn't notice it before I commented, I genuinely looked at the pic and thought Wales lol

U need to remove the centre cap and align ;)

I'll be popping into Audi today as my screen washers are a joke. I think whatever holds them in place is loose. When I got the car they sprayed on the roof, then the passenger side stopped working and yesterday I'm on the promenade in Blackpool, very busy being a bank holiday, I wash the screen and people on the footpath got a lovely shower. As comical as it was they've been adjusted 4 times in 6 months.

You might even get thinking about changing them to the ones that the VW cars use. The spray instead of the jets.
Here reference for VW: 5m0955985c
I once wanted to change them but after they asked me 20€ for the pair i just said no and stayed with the original jets washers.

Good shout. I fitted the washers from a Mk3 Focus to my Cougar as they too give a 'mist' rather than a series of directed jets, I personally find this to be much better in practice. A secondary bonus is that as there's no movable parts then there's also no corresponding (mis)alignment issues.

U can adjust the mist jets, but u need a special tool, u can make one with a biro tube. That's assuming they are the same as the ones I put on my last car.

Experienced the speed bump bounce on the suspension. Was a pretty savage bump mind.

Not the best photo due to light but had some new bits fitted today ;)
I'm awaiting the 'I've ruined it' comments ha

awesome!!!!

Do they slide forward? I've been thinking of doing something like that...

Yeah they do but it's awkward, had to run universal runners for now as no body makes one for the 8v. Usually the cobras have a slide forward then a handle behind them to lift and tilt the whole seat forward.
Will be awkward getting people in the back for now but I wanted them in for the shows this year
