Afternoon all

My old B7 saloon when holding on the boot opening button on the key fob it opened the boot all the way. My new B7 Saloon when pressing in the button it only pops it open a little bit. Are there different struts? for it to spring all the way iv seen there's a mod for the avant but are these different sizes to the saloon?
Thanks in advance
Ash

It's only supposed to release the boot latch, whether it's a saloon boot lid or Avant tailgate, not fully lift it up. Also the saloon doesn't have gas struts so I would not think you could do the Mod as described.
Adding a gas strut is a different kettle of fish, how about you being the first with some experimentation?

I believe some people fit (don't know if it comes standard too) springed hinges to auto open the saloon boot. There is a thread somewhere about this I'm sure

Anyone had any issues the the boot not working on either key but everything else working as normal ? opening and closing and locking etc? just not on the boot button?

With the saloon it was an option for the B6 and B7.

Did the mod to my B6 ages ago and here is mine in action:

but basically you need to replace the hinges as they have aditional parts and the dampers as they are stronger..........fit and that is it.

Here are the hinges you need..........notice the additional arm, attached spring and mounting point:

My saloon has it fitted from factory, different hinges with gas struts and springs.
