Coventry carjack attempt

I've seriously considered getting the Clifford Blackjax system on mine, have it on the cosworth, and it's not too difficult to use once you get used to it.

What's with this type of car being taken? Are they on high demand for 'Stolen to order'?

The S3 from that poor woman and then a Golf R in Stoke a few weeks back!?

Scumbags.

Good reason to set the doors to auto-lock as you pull away!

Nothing like these sort of reports to bring about paranoia!

Also always be vigilant when returning to your car in car parks etc. If there are dodgy looking characters around, keep walking. You can't be too careful.

Yes, sadly that's what you need to do. Most people would just hand the keys over - it's a decision we all have to make and probably the most sensible thing to do. Personally speaking, I'd tear them a new one. I was in the armed forces for a number of years, so have no qualms at all if someone wants to have a go - they'll regret it, that's all I will say.

Cowardly scumbags are probably selective who they pick on, such as attacking a lady. Good for her in this case for trying to stand up for herself and they didn't get the car. Sadly though, she was injured.....hope she is OK.

Best advice I agree is to walk away on by if there is any one hanging about or get into the car as quickly as possible if there is time. Also keep an eye out when you drive any where that you're not being followed. I've done a few diversions on occasions when the person behind seems intent on going the same way at every junction.

Same advice I have given my wife, also with locking yourself in the car. I've been driving before and locked myself in.

A short time ago here in North Devon they had a spate where a male would try stopping cars and hijacking them by standing in the road and flagging down females. It was all along a stretch of road my wife and many of her colleagues used. It was usually early in the morning, she's a nurse, so she passed on the same to her friends.

"It’s the second violent carjacking in Coventry this month - with thieves striking on March 15 in Stoke."

Since when has Stoke been near Coventry ?. I am glad the woman is OK, and I hope they catch the scum and convict them of attempted murder, stealing a car would probably get them a 12 month suspended sentence.

Karl.

Thanks for that, never heard of it. I am only about 35 miles from Coventry but hardly ever been there.
I presume they are related and it's going to be the same people.

Glad the woman's ok amazed she was not more badly hurt. There really are some scumbags about.

Then he would no doubt end up in court and paying up for a hefty injury claim.

Won't deny it's always a worry with me and would happily go back to my old car, no one cared about that!

To boost confidence some 'hoody's' driving past and pointed at me and fired with his hand....lovely lol
