Just picked up a lovely 2012 A3 TDI S-Line.

But i Have a problem...Tried to connect my phone to bluetooth and its telling me "Bluetooth is disabled in the settings". HELP!!

I select "Connect Mobile Phone" under TEL. I then get "The bluetooth function is unavailable" If i try and go to settings i get the same message.

If i go via MEDIA i get :"Bluetooth is deactivated in the Settings...Activate Bluetooth"

I cannot select "activate bluetooth". Anyone have any ideas? I've tried factory reset on the MMI but it doesn't help.

I also think Voice Control isn't working

This is slightly spoiling new car day.

Thanks

Is Bluetooth enabled on your phone itself? I had a problem with my phone connecting earlier in the week and somehow I had turned Bluetooth off on the phone itself.

Yes but the car doesn't even search. It just comes up with the messages i mentioned above

If I remember, somewhere in the settings - not sure if its under CAR, or under TEL, there is the option to switch Bluetooth on. 2 mins and I'll go look at mine

Thanks for checking. As soon as i go TEL -> Settings i get "The bluetooth function is unavailable"

Very odd. I can only think there must be an issue, sometimes a reset can work by switching off Bluetooth on your phone, switch off the car and remove the key, switch Bluetooth back on on your phone and then insert the key in the ignition and switch on. Apparently this "resets" the Bluetooth as the MMI system will search for up to 7 seconds to find it.

Then try the Tel / setting etc as above

Its what I had to do with my S3 earlier this week, as it got totally confused.

If after all that it still doesn't work, then I'm out of ideas, I'm afraid, so you will need to call your dealer. Sorry its spoiling your new car day though.

Can you spec a car without Bluetooth? If so, maybe the dealer or factory missed it and haven't specced it. I really hope this isn't the case as that would just be frustrating.

I think Audi will let you do it, but all UK models should have it as standard.

By which I mean, it's possible for the factory to build a car with it switched off, but not possible to order a car in the UK without it - so could be a factory mistake.

If your car is a 2012, it's not an 8V model (2013-), so you're not really posting in the right section of this site...

Hi Dan82,

I've just bought myself a 2014 A3 and I'm having the same issue. Sometimes the Bluetooth works and othertimes not.

Did you eventually find a solution?

You won't get a response from him the last time he logged on was over 3 years ago.
