Hi guys I hope somebody may be able to help me out, if so I'm truly grateful.

Had 2 new CV boots fitted on my 2007 A3 2.0 Tdi (140bhp Bkd engine) at Xmas which have failed because the garage put on the cheap glue together crap. Because they couldn't get the CV joint off easily they had to replace the CV joint on the offside altogether. I picked up the car & immediately noticed my steering warning light had come on, which it wasn't previous to the new CV joint replacement. Now I spoke to the garage (who are sharks by the way) & they said it has nothing to do with them. I'm challenging this as the light has illuminated immediately after work was carried out on part of the drivetrain IE steering also. The garage deny all responsibility for my troubles & say they haven't caused this trouble..
I know an Audi tech & he ran a diagnostic only to find the a lot of the codes were missing from my car for a lot of different things. He has had my car before Xmas & this was not the case. He recoded most of the equipment but couldn't get rid of the steering warning light. He has told me that a special tool is needed to remove cv joints from Audi's. I'm sure the garage didn't have this so how did they remove my CV joint then. My Audi mate has said the steering rack may be F****d now & it could run into the £1000's to replace.
Can anyone shed any light on what may be causing my light to illuminate after a new CV joint is fitted? I'm desperate now & it's getting me down. Ive owned the car approx 2yrs & i've had nothing but grief with this junk, over £2000 in 2 years, c'mon Audi eh!

Only tool need to remove the joint from the shaft, they tap right off

As for the light, what did the fault codes actually say? Did he try and reset the steering angle sensor?

Hi there, the audi tech showed me the proper pulling tool 2 remove the cv joint + there was a thread on my cv joint.
The fault came up on this little handheld saying that the steering module was incorrectly coded. Now ive had the car just over 2 years and its bn in2 audi a few times without incedent. The garage i took my cahp 2 is notorious g damaging ane f@@@in cars up unbknndwn 2 me. It went in fine and came out like this.

Daft question I know but, if the garage doesn't have a good reputation why did you take your car there?
