1st Official 8V RS3 shots

I think the term "moron" is probably verging on the abusive, going by the terms of usage of this forum ;)

0-60 in a S-tronic is only under 5 seconds if you use launch control, which obviously isn't a daily occurrence at the traffic lights.

Without launch control, its slower, given the lack of turbo boost.

Is the S3 a quick car?
With launch control, yes.

In everyday usage?
Probably no faster than your German Barge with a 2.5l diesel or larger.
Especially on the move. A 2.5l diesel or larger will cream a S3 (especially if caught napping off boost, or unprepared in the wrong gear) on the move.

Any S3 driver should beware the 330d or 335d driver. Pick your fights carefully ;)

Except with an MTM Cantronic embedded ! :D

Why? I didn't buy an S3 to race on public roads or show off to other drivers. I have an S3 as it is a nice place to sit with high quality Tech and kit and it has a good degree of power when I need it, usually overtaking on an A road. In such circumstances it gives me the confidence that I can 'safely' overtake and in doing so, I usually have the road craft sorted as well as gearing. On longer trips I have found the S3 to again be a nice place to sit while cruising at the speed limit on a motorway and the fuel consumption is also very good in such circumstances. Also, just to put to bed your usual come backs I tested the A45, S1, S3, Golf R, Fiesta ST and Cupra 280. For everything mentioned above the S3 was the best car in 'my opinion'. So, rather than continuing to troll and tell others what they should be doing, that they are abusive, or that they should use the FAQ and better not have an opinion that differs from yours - perhaps you could be more constructive in your posts, rather than attempting to troll S3 owners, which is getting tiresome...

Now, can we get back to talking about the RS3?

I would like bulging arches on the new RS3, like the RS4 has & the Clubsport

Like these -

Who's trolling? ;)

I'm replying to posts, that have already been posted, and queries (sometimes disguised trolling) posted my way ;)

My posts are extremely constructive, some people just can't take any criticism of the S3 :)

Oh, we can take criticism of the S3, we are just bored to tears with your trolling of the same boring points of view over and over and over and over. And the way you belittle people with differing opinions, but yours are always right so it must be others who can't take what you say. May be you need a break to get out in to the big wide wonderful world and expand your horizons beyond the S3, A45 and on and on and on?

If you're bored of one persons point of view, just skip that post.

Simple :)

The guys a ****, factual post. You can see the evidence above. Goes on about racing on public roads, that us S3 owners have to watch out. Guy is a troll and I doubt he even owns a S3 the way he constantly belittles the car and owners. However, he is your buddy and this forum is going down hill fast, so I will leave you to get on with it. Shame as I thought there was some intelligent discussion of the RS3 before **** boy had to get going with his repeated 'opinions'.

So, RS3 is going to be £40,910 OTR according to dealer. Order book officially open March 1st with configurator on the UK website live the same week. Can't wait to see the options list and prices.
^ This is a repeat of a post I made yesterday, but the talk was all about Mercedes and other non-RS3 subjects and it likely got missed...
So, is £41K base where we thought it would be? Still tempted? Oh and dealer said no Saloon coming or planned.

I'm still tempted, it will be interesting to see what a the real cost will be once i've had a play with the configurator. As I am two years away from moving from the S3, it will give me plenty of time to hear the truth about the new RS3 and see whether or not its worth the money or whether a competitor has a better vehicle for the money.

I will give it a couple of years in the S3 and then take stock...

I do really like the RS3, but by that time I will have been in the S3 SB for 2 or 3 years and I might be tempted to look at an RS4.

I'm tempted by the pricing of the UK RS4 right now, with the attractive APR and pricing.

So, by comparison, the RS3 isn't looking too competitive, price-wise.
(granted, the running cost of the RS4 is going to be higher)

I love the Nardo Grey. What color are you leaning towards if you did decide to
get one?

You'll be surprised at the level of discounting (or lack of it) on new stock and factory order cars. I know I was V8

Audi Uk dealers have 181 new stock RS4's in & won't discount beyond a factory order one, which I found very strange TBH

APR is good, pricing is rubbish

How do I know this? I wasted 2 weeks of my time ringing round numerous dealers in the Uk trying to get a deal. The apathy I found was appalling. Still waiting for 'Sales Exexcutive's' to ring me back. Shocking!

I found the majority of the Audi Dealers pretty helpful when I Bought my RS4 B8, but I did Buy mine on proper Finance, not those PCP Schemes, which I think makes a difference??

I did PCP once, but did'nt like it, so never again!!

Sooooo......RS3 then? Anyone?

If I had the money it would be on my shopping list, it should improve what's already good with the S3. Now if a dealer wanted to give me a long term loan of one (when they arrive) so I could confirm my views I wouldn't say no. :)

I wouldn't spend another penny on any Haldex based car.
Ruins the drive for me.

RS4 is the way to go over the RS3.

Haldex works fine & the New RS3 will be great!!

..........will Buy one if they bring out a Saloon, as I don't like the Unsporty Styling of the Sportback!

Haldex is that crap they use the same one in a Land Rover discovery sport that's in the s3/rs3 I'm guessing land rovers don't make 4 wheel drives or have a reputation to uphold!

That sounds almost sarcastic

Oh it was

Actually..... Land Rover have now dropped Haldex in the new Evoque & Discovery Sport, and gone to GKN for the higher spec option for the 4WD ;)

(Haldex Gen5 still available on Evoque/Discovery Sport as basic 4WD fit)

Now that's what an RS3 should like .. especially if in Sepang & with larger rear pipes. The SB needs the flares as well...

Each to their own but if it looks like that I wouldn't buy one.

Long time reader, first time poster.

I didn't think much of the styling when I saw the first official pics.
But after watching this vid time and again and seeing that image in nardo grey, I'm sold!
Exactly!
I was the same - now I need to justify spending £47k (with options) on a new car that I have to wait until July to get

That wide arched White Saloon a few Posts back, looks really smart!

..........White wouldn't be my personal choice, but I'd love to see something like that in the old Classy Avus Silver or Dazzling Sprint Blue!

Flared Arched Saloons give that Allstars/Euro Touring Car look!!
