So, the NEW RS3 Sportback is reviewed in today's Autocar by Nic Hackett - and its BLUE!
Now Nic is obviously someone who just wants to go sideways and likes to compares himself with Ari Virtanen, tsk!
Me, I'm a public road user. I want a car that does what I want it to in all conditions: dry, wet, ice, snow, etc. and for me the RS3 does that in abundance. I just love the RS3 (ok, so I like the RS7, but wouldn't swap my RS3 for and RS: don't ask...)
I love acceleration, and anonymity, and BLUEY does it for me; it'll also carry 4-people comfortably.
2-years ago another nameless Autocar professional scribe was extolling the virtues of the BMW M135i (over the Audi RS3) and promptly stuffed both offside rims tyres; and reported in lower case at the bottom of the report, tsk.
In all the years I've been driving Lotus cars I've never been with anyone wanting to hang the ar*e end of his car out on public roads. Most if any were not capable, anyway.
This sort of driving evaluation for Joe Public is stupid! Stupid, stupid, stupid.
The RS3 is a fabulously safe motor car; for me most probably the most complete all-weather useable car I've ever owned. Ok, ok, I've just purchased an Audi A2 - diesel! But it does put the RS3 into perspective as a truly fabulous motor car.
On public roads, day to day driving, you'll need to convince me there's a difference. On a track maybe, but it'll need a professional to demonstrate.
Sorry! But sunshine, a glass of wine, and a nonsense (stupid) report from a professional motoring scribe that doesn't even own the bl**dy car he's reviewing gets to me, sometimes...
For any and ALL purchasing the new RS3, enjoy!
But be safe out there on public roads.
The NEW Audi RS3 is going to be a fabulous motor car, as was the last...
