So my 2011 A3 is leaking coolant and a lot of it is around this little piece, does anyone know what this is? is it the "other" water pump? I've heard that Audi's are notorious for plastic parts that leak coolant...

It looks like it maybe a secondary coolant pump, but I cant confirm from that pic & no engine details.

the engine is the: 2.0L L4 DOHC 16V TURBO. I'll try and get a larger picture of the area tonight. But it is behind the large hose in the middle of the engine which has a long plastic piece attached. The component is attached to the side of lower half of the engine if that helps

here's a picture and location of where this is at

Looks to be a cover for the belt that drives the water pump

I had my water pump replaced by Audi when the car was just over 3 years old, however it wasn't leaking, it was just making a strange high pitched squeak. Also it was under warranty so I can't tell you how much it was unfortunately, I don't think they are too bad to do, it's just that it's below the manifold
