Hello Audi-Sport, I am new to this forum.

Hi, please can anyone advise. I had a flat battery and attempted a jump start last week which didn't work and the jump leads went hot while smoke was coming from the connectors. I have been advised this indicates the battery was dead. Disconnected the battery to try to trickle charge but this was unsuccessful. Got the car started on Friday anyway by the breakdown people but the RNS-E nav/entertainment system won't switch on. I thought it was likely to be a blown fuse but I pulled the fuses indicated in my manual under the hood and they seem fine. Also looked for the one inside the car on the drivers side but the space is blank and there is no fuse there. Can anyone confirm what is likely to be causing this? I believe there may be a fuse behind the unit, can anyone confirm and what tools would I need to remove it?

4 radio keys & a pair of pliers to pull the fuse at the rear of the radio, but remove radio & stick a meter or 12v electrical screwdriver on the power feed to unit & see if its got power to that point aswell, if the rear fuse is fine.

Thanks for the reply. Looking at this youtube

you need to open the screen to get one of the keys in.

No you don't.

@NHN I've sent you a couple of PMs about my RNSe but not heard back from you, have you not received them?

You can slide the key in between the screen and the edge of the unit.

Thanks mate. I suspected this was the case. I have ordered some radio removal keys today but would anyone know if its possible to get to the fuse by just removing the glove compartment?

Not a chance, just use the keys.

Sorry Rusty, been of the ranch for a while with illness, haven't been on here very much, I'll go over my pm's asap.
