It's probably one for such as NHN but the steering wheel is fitted and works - in a fashion

There are some issues :p

- The airbag light is on so it needs re-pinning for double to single airbag

-The MF controls don't perform the correct commands, the buttons work but don't do the correct commands (I'm using the 8P0 953 549 B module with and B7/8 airbag and B8 wheel) so I assume that's the pin location needing to be swapped?

Does anybody know where to find the pin outs for the slipring and the buttons on the 8P and B8? thanks muchly if anybody can :D

bump, is there something about the later buttons with the thumb wheels not talking with the line of brushed aluminium round?

*edit: I've tried searching but nobody seems to have the issue I have haha!

Hi mate
Did you ever get this sorted? I'm looking to swap the std wheel on my A3 8P for the MFSW, but I can't even convince myself of the correct part number of the steering wheel I need! Any help appreciated. TK

The B8 wheel has different buttons and functions than the 8P wheel. That is why the controller cannot interpret the wheel controls correctly.
The wiring is very simple. GND, LIN, Positive. All the information is passed down the LIN wire so if it's doing something then the wiring is correct. It's just that the wheel and controller do not understand each other.

Craig, The B8 wheel and buttons work fine on a 8P as does the airbag
Which is what set up I have on my 8J TT

You were correct in your theory Craig just the wrong model mate

Ie: the 8v A3 has the "two arrows" on the left side buttons instead of the single " mode " button
That works on a different Lin version

The 8v airbag is also single stage where as the A4 & A5 are dual stage

Well I'm a little confused about the A3 8P the initial poster has, he mentions single stage airbag. Does he mean he has a single stage airbag controller and the B8 wheel is dual stage as I think it is. If this is the case his A3 will be an early model 2004/5 where the models were single stage airbags.

But then again he mentions Double to Single, so he is maybe assuming the B8 wheel is single stage.

I could be wrong buy there is very little information in the OP
