Coming Home & Leaving Home Lights Enabled

@Sandra yup i did last night, but it looks like I've posted it on his profile page rather then start a conversation, will try that next. Wanted to see if this is something that could be activated in my car aswell
 
Hey guys, ive got my CH/LH lights working as my xenons but im wondering can this be changed to foglights instead? Its a 2006 audi a3.

I so want to do this definitely my favourite quick simple mod, but I don't have Vagcom and I don't think anyone is particularly near me with it and is active :( gutted haha!

EDIT: Ar-Rkon is apparently near me on the map, but I cannot message him, is this because he is a moderator/staff member or something - if anyone could let me know thatd be great maybe he can help :D

Hi guys, ive got vcds/vag com, can I do this mod on my 2004 Audi A3 sport 2.0tdi dsg? And anyone know which over mods I can do please, Im based in North East so if anyone needs to lend my vcds for Theres then that's no problem! Cheers jack

coming home on a 2006 only works with the headlights not the fogs, this is a feature Audi brought on the facelift cars.
i have only seen this enabled once with use of a separate custom module however the person that used to make these modules doesn't make it anymore and the car i fitted it to has since been sold on.

Hello Guys ! I have an Audi A3 1.6 (Don't laugh) 2006 and I am having the same issue as 'Garrry'. I have attached the cable to pin 12 with no issues etc.... When I enter VCDS program, the cable connects fine and software finds my car with no issues. However, I go into Cent.Electrics 09>long coding helper and I find that I only have the option to tick bit 3 and 4. Can someone help me with this issue? I will be over the moon if I can get this working (like a christmas present lol). I am new to the forum (only bought just my car!) but will contribute as time progresses.

If it isn't possible on my car, I have the genuine Audi repair cable which anyone is welcome to have.

Don't worry guys, did more research and found that I too have the crap base line module :keule:
 
I've done this mod with the repair wire. I don't have auto light switch or light sensor, so lights come on day or night.
Does anyone know if i can do a mod using an auto light switch connected to the earth wire? The purpose is to only use the feature when I want and not all the time i open or close the car...

The function for coming home should only work at night obviously with the light sensor telling it that its dark.
Depending on the year of car ad depending on which modules you have in the car you could have the option to turn off the ch/lh feature in the dis. Otherwise you could retrofit the auto light switch with the coming home button so you can just press the button to activate/deactive the mod but this would need wiring in.
The final option is to have the whole auto lights retrofit installed so it works as per OEM. Send us a pm if your interested in having the whole installation done

Old thread, but did you manage to deactivate Leaving Home function?
I have the same problem on MY2009 car.

Because the car has Xenon lights and no light sensor.
So Leaving Home allways turn on (even by daylight) when you unlock the car, which is not a good thing for xenon bulbs.

This problem is solved.

You have to set Byte 23/BIT5 to OLD, so disable it. This somehow enables menu selection on MFD.

Then enable Leaving Home function on Byte 0/BIT5:

Go to menu on MFD and disable Leaving Home function:

Disable Leaving Home function on VCDS.

Change CH logic back to NEW.

Done.

Old logic would be best since the driver could enable/disable CH/LH lights, but with this enabled somehow also xenon lights were turned on with DRL. So I have put back manual CH lights without LH lights and no menu on MFD.

2) You lock the car again
3) The period specified in VAGCOM elapses.

Hi guys. I have exactly the same problem. I did everything properly but only the leaving home funktion working.. When I remove the key from the ignition and open the door, headlights just flash on and off for a half a second then go off...
Any ideas?

Bringing an old thread back to life but i've been messin around with getting LH lights enabled on my car. I was actually suprised it was just a simple VCDS tweak to get them working even tho i have no light sensor and never did the wire hack (Its MY 2009 with bixenons from factory). Ofc they always come on when you unlock the car and only thing thats bugging me is that bixenons come on as well. I was wondering if its possible to get only DRL's on or DRL's and fogs. I've seen couple of YT vids where its showcased, but couldnt find a way to do it.



If anyones got the clue on how to achieve it, let me know :)
