I just brought Porsche 6Pot brakes for my S3. The guy I got them from said he had them on a Mk4 Golf as he had adaptors so I'm assuming they will fit my audi s3 8l ?

thanks

They should do! Any mk4 platform should be interchangeable.

Interested to see how this plays out. Thinking of treating myself to some Brembo goodness in the new year..

I can't recommend them enough, something with the weight of the S3 really does deserve proper brakes.

If your discs and pads are in need of replacement there's no reason not to upgrade given the price of them now.

There bigger than my original s3 brakes so I'm happy enough : )

What's the part number on them?

They look like Boxster S rear calipers to me, which are unfortunately no better than your sliding calipers which were originally fitted in terms of performance because the Pistons are FAR too small.

Iv 2 partially seized calipers trust me there better than what I have ; )

You will need some adaptors in order to fit them and I've got some new ones for sale!:meeting:

Drop me a PM if interested

Sorry mate, my reply was meant to the one who started this topic.

I've got the full set up from a mk4 golf too I got the Addaptors for the guy I got the callipers from. Thanks anyway

They look **** and incredibly unsafe.

Regardless of his previous sticking callipers he made a terrible choice going for Boxster rears...Bling over safety and efficiency. Not cool.

Boxster rears have smaller pistons that drastically increases the amount of effort you need to put in to get them to work... it feels a lot like running the brakes un servo'd... pedal is very hard and you have to almost stand on the pedal for them to get any appreciable bite...

Have driven a Leon Cupra with these fitted... the brakes on my old Mk2 Golf 1.3 were miles better

<tuffty/>

Thinking about it, it does make sense... Rears always do less work. Almost put rears on my Golf Vr6 once... Lucky I never

Jay, I've got some porsche cayenne front callipers for sale as well if you're interested! :thrashi:

(new seals, new pistons were needed, fully refurshibed, 1 pair is yellow, 1 pair is red)

I didn't want to labour the point because you've already purchased them and didn't seem interested in hearing why they aren't very good.

But really, they're terrible.

You'd be better off with your standard setup.

People only fit Boxster rears for the looks, the performance of them is worse than standard.

Doh!! Back to the drawing board : ( what sort of money are the cayenne calipers making ?

Why do you want brakes that big?

Just fit Leon Cupra R Brembos.

Cayenne brakes- too big. Too heavy. Very poor hydraulic match.

That said, they will work. And stop the car well. Pedal feel will be long, and pad choice limited.

As for Jays yellow brakes: are they definitely rear calipers? Need part numbers to confirm.

If they're rears, I echo the above. They're unsafe and considerably worse than stock. Do not fit.

I've never spoke to Neil about his brakes.
I know Westy never had any issues and the other members that fitted them said they was ok.
I guess its your driving style and what you wanted/expected from the brakes?

It goes without saying that if you are fitting a brake upgrade you are planning on driving the car fast.

If Westy wasn't constantly boiling his fluid with 312's he wasn't driving fast enough. Basically.

Fronts yes.
A thousand times better than the rears thankfully!

Fit them by all means, you'll like that and they'll be a good upgrade.
Not as good as a set of LCR brembos, but still not bad and plenty for any road use.
