Hey :arco:

1st post on the 8P forum, I'm hoping to own one very soon...
I'm normally lurking about on the 8L forum where we have a sticky for A3/S3 videos but I see there isn't one here...
Any one got any good links to you tube videos? I've had a look at some of them but I'm struggling to find any reviews of the 8P...

Plenty of hands-on reviews here,and Youtube has plenty of S3 videos,but I'm not sure how useful or optimistic those are.

What sort of info are you after?

Just wanted to see other peoples reviews on the 3.2 Quattro, I love my S3 8L but what I really really want that V6 noise!
 
And what are the differences between the S3 8p and the A3 3.2 Quattro 8p
?

Welcome to the 8p bit .
I have a 3.2 Quattro Sport , love it , the sound is sooooooo nice and the grunt is awesome .

What are the main differences between the 3.2 and the S3?
 
The S3 is turbo charged , the 3.2 is normally aspirated .
The S3 is kind of a range topper , the 3.2 , especially in Sport trim , is a bit more basic , the S-line is better though .

Did they do an A3 3.2 S-Line then? The one I'm looking at is badged up S-Line but I assumed that they were after market ebay badges...

It's also got an S3 badge on the tail, which I know it aint...

Now that is one cool looking guy. I liked him in the fast five movies. So sad he no longer with us. :) x

I know the basic differences have already been answered for you,but I've owned both,and moved from a 3.2(via an A4 Avant 3.0TDi) to the S3.

The 3.2 sounds lovely,and is a very smooth car to drive,but it's thirsty,and unless you spend a LOT on it,you aren't going to get much more power from it,if that's your sort of thing.

The S3 is nowhere near as smooth or as nice sounding,but it's quicker,and has vastly more potential for relatively little outlay in terms of remapping and a few other parts,that would get you to 360bhp.

They do do a 3.2 S Line too .
Like Alex says , they are a thirsty beast but they ooze creamy power from tick over and are so silky smooth to drive , almost any gear from low revs , they just pull like a train ................can you tell I am smitten .
They are , however , rather sensitive to brake and throttle input and do take a bit of mastering to achieve the for mentioned smooth ride , I nearly stuffed the salesman through the windscreen the first time I braked on my test drive .
Best thing to do , if you can , is take one out on the road .

I'm not bothered about thirst as it's just a weekend fun thing :) I'm looking at turboing or charging it in the future...
I do want more power but I really want that V6 sound...

every thought of a B5 S4? 2.7 v6 twin turbo? sound lovely and have lots of grunt. just a shame its not so modern as the 8p

Me too... She looks to good to be true... I don't think it will come off though... I wasn't even looking for one and then this turned up... Seller is gonna come back to me on Tuesday...
