Discount / GFV

came back with free alloy & tyre cover and chucking in the guardex for free, so not too bad I guess, seeing as the cars ready to board the ferry shouldn't be too long now, il try and work on a free service or 2 aswell when I collect :)

I also tested the water with Carwow and Coventry Audi were offering the best price. Camberley Audi, my local dealer, beat the Coventry Audi price without even asking how much it was. This was my second A3 from them and our negotiations over the first must have prepared them for this transaction as they offered the same discount as the first to start with and we ended up with a greater percentage discount. I find you have to be prepared to sit with them for a long time. It helps to convince them that you are serious about buying but that you aren't just going to jump at their first offer. I spent a whole day negotiating for the first A3 and then half a day followed by a 'second thoughts' phone call and a further visit for the second. When we got to discussing the p/ex value for the old A3, I got up to walk away which led to a further round of negotiation and finally a good overall deal. They will be front runners for my next Audi.

Ive now placed my order with Coventry Audi, managed a £4600 discount on a £42k car :)

Now all I need to do is get my deposit back from Cheshire Oaks. I ordered the car and paid for the deposit over the phone, so does this cover me under the distance selling regs? even if I had been into the dealership to test drive a demo car?

Did you pap by credit card?

http://www.adviceguide.org.uk/engla...protection_when_you_buy_with_a_debit_card.htm

This link might be of help.......few years ago I charged back a deposit paid on my debit visa through my bank where a dealer didn't respond to my request for my deposit refund.

Long story short I put a deposit down on a RenaultSport Clio (I wasn't well at the time) and after a change of heart they just ignored my emails and calls requesting my deposit back. So went to my bank and they agreed that under the T&C's I could request a refund and as they had ignored me they would charge back the money for me.

Might be useful if you can't get an answer on your deposit

Just been speaking to a few dealerships over the last week and two have offered me an 11.1% discount on the total price of the car £36300 down to £32283 so £4017 off.

New Audi S3 Sportback S-tronic

PCP

Deposit £9K
Monthly payments £266.25
Term 48 months
10K PA
GFV £16253.55

Definetly pays to shop around a lot - I posted a few months back when I went into Aberdeen Audi and a local dealer near Gatwick and the deal just didn't feel right so I have waited a while, although in hindsight I could have saved myself the October price rise of 2%??

I think this is a pretty reasonable deal anyone else agree ?

11.1% is very good. I could only manage 10% or so. I think it depends on the time of year. Obviously between now and Christmas is a good time to get a deal I would think.

Are you planning to get buy it at the end of the 4 years so pay 9K at the start and 10K to own it at the end?

Probably not buy, if there is any equity left above the GFV at the time I look to switch it out then I'll be using that to get another new car but things can change plus this is looking forward to around Oct 2017 !

Did you deal with Anthony at Coventry, how helpful was he etc? And did you go to him directly after receiving the offer or did you continue to use CarWow to communicate?

Just trying to get a bit of feedback really!

Can't help regarding Anthony at Coventry Audi but when I used Carwow to get my deal I just used the messaging system via Carwow to communicate with the dealer I am using. Having gone ahead and ordered I am now on email terms ;)

I found Anthony great to deal with TBH

Once the deal is done, he will pass you onto Be from Audi Coventry, who is also very helpful. Keeps me updated with emails and phone calls. Nice guy!

Worth bearing in mind, Carfile seem to be coming in slightly cheaper than Carwow and you will still deal with Anthony/Ben at Audi Coventry

Went through Anthony now Ben at Coventry Audi too, both pretty helpful, delivery March 2015 also, busy month for them.

Saved 11% on A3 SB through Carwow

I spoke to Ben at Coventry Audi through carwow. He was very responsive to the messages and actively called me to discuss a few details. Unfortunately for them, my local dealer could beat their best offer by another 4% - but I probably wouldn't have got there without the initial carwow offer. I'd have been happy to use them though.

Am I the only one that's having difficulty with Coventry? They've failed to respond to ANY email I've sent, and 'phone calls are never returned. I get read receipts within an hour of sending emails, then days of silence, and chaser emails are also ignored. I've now been waiting 4 weeks for pricing confirmation after making a spec change. If I'm lucky enough to get someone on the 'phone, it's always "oh, I've just pulled your file and was about to call you." I'm not too bothered that I haven't received any of the fortnightly updates promised when I ordered the car (there's nothing much for them to say) but it would be nice to at least get a response to a query, even once. I haven't had the provisional build week confirmed, despite requests, and am finding the whole experience to be pretty frustrating. If I didn't want the car so much I'd have walked away by now, and there's a small part of me that reckons I'd have been better going with the BM I almost bought. Hope it's worth the wait...... :mad new::disillusionment::miserable::motz:

Could I ask you guys if you think I would be able to get discount as I am paying cash? Just wondering, I think not but I guess it's worth an ask.

If its a no stick with the PCP and then cancel within 14 days of picking up the car (14 day cooling off period) and pay the balance in full. I would imagine that dealers will have targets/prefer a PCP, theres the interest payments to VW finance and after 36/48 months if not sooner you'll likely to go back to that dealership and buy another Audi, with cash you're 'promiscuous'.

Hi all, my first post on here. Am thinking of ordering a new S3 currently have black edition TT.

Just to clarify with regards to mentioned discounts, have these all be obtained through such companies as Carwow to name one? We bought my mrs' A1 black edition from new my TT and she now has a new A3 after the A1 and never got offered any discount from two local dealers we have used (I did ask). So have decided to do some research before jumping in feet first and ordering not just on the car but also best time/place to buy etc. how is it best to approach it to get the best deal?

Thanks
Dan

Welcome along Dan

Your best bet is to get onto Carwow, Orangewheels, carfile etc. first and see what price you can get. If you have a preferred dealer then you can then take the discounted prices you've had from said websites and see if they can match that price.

Personally I just stuck with the dealer that Carwow used, it wasn't the best price but it was a localish dealer to me and it was only 1% out.

Good luck

Spec & dealer offering you £9k off would be nice too mate ;) :D

Ha you wont manage to get anyone to match it mate, unless you are entitled to tax free purchases, I got a 10% discount and got the tax off, all done through an Agent that deals through Watford Audi. I'm in the forces based in Germany, hence why I get these privileges ;)
As for Spec: S3 Sportback S-tronic, metallic paint, Super Sports seats, Audi parking system with reversing cam, B&O sound system, Comfort pack, cruise control, interior lighting pack, electric folding mirrors, privacy glass, extended mono pur interior, Sd sat nav.
Should be able to sell for more than I paid after a year, but not sure how much longer before I return to UK so might be better off keeping it if I'm to return before the year is up as we're only entitled to one tax free car per year and not allowed to sell before a year is up.

Ah hah! Lol

Now I understand the level of discount mate

My neighbours sister is in a similar situation to yours. They were telling me they run some pretty exotic cars which they keep for 6 months & then sell 'em for a profit

Great work if you can get it lol

Nice on Tony :thumbs up:
