BW 41, 42, 43, 44

I'm in Scotland mate -but my ordering dealer is Sheffield Audi - fingers crossed mate it's sooner !

They must be giving you the 3-4 weeks to cover their ar$es then.
Audi states if they don't meet a given delivery date they will provide you with a car in the meantime

I would think discodeek is not in the UK. If he is I think 3-4 weeks isn't correct.
Once it lands in the UK you can get a car in a few days. One day transport, one day PDI, next day on your drive.
Remain positive!

That will be slightly optimistic for me as I live in Norwich and the car is coming from a dealership in the midlands. Perhaps I will give them an extra day to transport it to me ;)

Just had an email from my salesman to say that my car has landed in the UK. I should be collecting next week.

Hopefully good news for other waiting BW41 customers:icon thumright:

You lucky devil! I can feel another phone call to either the dealer or Audi CS coming up this lunchtime...

OK, I am none the wiser. Audi CS have advised that a shipping order was raised on 10 October and that they normally allow a 15 day window for it to arrive in the UK. The chap I spoke to couldn't be certain but he thinks that the car is in transit and still aboard the ferry (apparently it can take three days when arriving in the port for the paperwork to be completed and the car taken off the ferry). They do not get an update until the paperwork is completed. I can therefore only hope that I am in the same position as Cameo!

Audi CS have said that I can call them on a daily basis if I so wish. All I really want is a date as to when I can get my hands on the car...

My dealer (Coventry) has just told me that my BW41 is in the country and I should get it next week. Thanks Cameo!

Good new for you!
My dealer has just informed me that mine is still awaiting a ship.
Thankfully they have at least committed to a delivery date no later than the 7th.

I am officially confused.com. How is it that Cameo and NickyF know that their cars are in the country, mine "might" be in the North Sea and Martin's hasn't left Emden? I accept that they might not have been able to place all BW41 cars on the same ferry but it's the "not knowing" in terms of where the cars are is what is incredibly frustrating for me.

Oh well, it's another day tomorrow :)

I have just had my daily "chat" with Audi CS. The story has changed again! The individual I spoke to today advised that the car was booked in at the Emden compound on 15 October and that they allow a 10 to 15 day window for it to be shipped to the UK. She didn't think that the car has left Emden at the present time!

I have been feeling frustrated up until now, I now feel annoyed :audibash:

Just noticed that you've ordered a saloon, whereas NickyF and I ordered SBs. Are they built in different factories? That might explain why they're on different ferries and why there's a delay.

The simple answer to that is I don't know. It would make sense if that were the case. It could also be that yours were built earlier in the week, got transported to Emden before mine and ended up on a different ferry. Who knows?!

The saloon is built in Hungary. The Sportback and 3 door are built in Ingolstadt, Germany.

The Saloon production is in Gyor, but comes back to Ingolstadt (via train) then onto Emden,

Gyor isn't set up with the infrastructure for logistically dealing with final distribution

In hindsight, what I should have probably done is looked back at all the threads commencing "BW...". I am sure that, for regular visitors to this board and who have their cars, it's like groundhog day every time someone creates a new BW thread!

I might amuse myself later by seeing if that is infact the case...

I do find myself logging into the forum throughout the day in the hope of seeing others with the same BW as me making progress. I am beginning to wonder if I have an addiction to audi-sport.net :sos:

Thank you, but not just mine, lot of other members useful posts too!

My car should be with dealer today or tomorrow, and I'm picking it up on Thursday. BW41. Got the VIN/REG etc and now need to ring Audi insurance to arrange the 7 day cover. I ordered on June 1st, feels like a lifetime ago.

Cool.
Mine and Andrew's must still be at Emden getting repaired from their transport damage :audibash:

I tried to resist calling Audi CS today but failed...

My car is defiintely still at Emden. I was told to allow a further three weeks before I should expect to take delivery! I asked if she knew when it would be shipped and she could not tell me. More disappointment...

A3 Sportback B/W 43 Been told to expect delivery last week in November

Build Week 43 so should have been built this week. Dealer said to allow 3-4 weeks to get delivery. So hoping sometime around the 20th November give or take a few days, it seems a long time since I ordered it!

BW43 Too, hoping it's been built this week. My dealer has been off so hoping for an update come Monday. Last week of November I reckon. Just in time for all that salt on the road. :(

I was BW41 and was hoping for delivery four weeks later, but see posts above, it's currently sat at Emden dock and I was told today that I should allow a further three weeks...

I believe that ferries leave for the UK on a daily basis, but does anyone know how often cars are transported from Hungary (where the saloons are built) to Emden? It does seem likely to me that hatchbacks will get to their final destination sooner, simply due to the fact that they are built in Germany. Is it "first come, first served" in terms of loading the cars onto the ferries?

On that basis dts, you may get yours before I get mine!

Oh no, another hatchback which might get on the ferry before my saloon :lmfao:

Well, lets not hold our breath, I don't know if its actually been built yet!

Did your dealer confirm that it was "locked down" for BW 43 before his hols? If yes, you can be certain that it is built I think. If you can't wait until Monday, Audi Customer Services are open tomorrow until 3pm! The number is 0800 699 888.

It was locked down yeah, thanks for that. So assuming no major disaster at Ingolstadt it should exist. I know its been asked before, but what do I need to provide CS with, just my order number, to get information on the car status?

Thanks,

Thanks,

You should have an eight digit factory order reference number. If not, quote your name and the dealer and they should be able to locate your details.

Update from me, I was initially given an expected delivery date of approx mid December then given a BW41 with delivery on 3rd November, then I got a few emails from Audi with one sayings car was in the UK on the 9th October. I expected I would get it even earlier but just got another email saying car is still in UK port and should be in Aberdeen next week, so probably still looking at 3rd November delivery. It's fine with me but it shows how long they can sit about waiting for a transporter.
Got my private plate on retention and got the new V5 back within 2 weeks of applying so I'm good to go.

Phoned Audi CS and they said they wouldn't be able to confirm until Monday, so I'll just wait until my dealer is back.

Car is showing as production completed. Ive been told it will show as in transit to Emden sometime around Wednesday. The wait is even harder now I know it exists.
