Hiya everyone,
I'm not sure if this has been covered on here..
Car in question 2007 A3 Sportback

Tried locking up my car tonight and noticed that indicators didn't come on when I lock it using the fob, so I opened all doors including bonnet and boot lid and then tried locking doors but still the same thing, so I investigated a bit further thought let me drive around the block and see if it'll reset or something then noticed that the central locking light doesn't come on (my cars door locks when going above 10mph). After playing around with it for a good 30mins I find out that all doors lock apart from the drivers door. I tried using the fob to close it but nothing, also tried manually by inserting the key into the keyhole on the drivers door and trying to lock it through that, still the same issue all other doors will lock but drivers side wouldn't. One good thing (I guess) is that my alarm still works and the alarm light is also work, right now its on the street parked up with one door open.

I'm hoping there's a quick fix for this issue and if anyone can please help me

Thanks.... This'll be a sleepless night thank god I don't have work or uni in the morning

Door close switch not picking up the door is closed. take it out short the wires together (closing the circuit) do the doors lock? If so the switch is faulty...

Hi all.. If anyone is checking this....

After opening the wire harness area, found out that one of the wires were detached, soldered it together and stuck it with electric tape, now it seems to be working properly.

Check out the images I have linked.
- image one is a split wire - this is the wire that was causing the issue, after soldering it together and to be sure put electric tape around it, the issue that i was having was fixed. this is a really quick fix. also as you can see there are other wires that are starting to split open

- image two is wire the harness area - when I opened this I found a wire that seemed to has been split into two.

I have issues with my drivers side unlocking using the fob, have to use the key sometimes.

I checked my door harness and the same as your have shown split wires and cores showing. Three of mine are damaged.

Going to replace the door harness think it's about £94 from the stealers.

I had the same issue where drivers door not locking/unlocking using fob. My fob will lock all other doors apart from drivers door, I had to manually lock the door by inserting key when I tried unlocking the other doors will open but again had to insert key to unlock drivers door.

Not sure if its clear from the picture, there are other wires that are starting to split and you can see the core of them.
