I must admit, I no longer measure it exactly. I take my figures from the DIS, and mentally subtract a couple of mpg. On that basis, mine ranges from about 34mpg in mixed daily driving, to around 43mpg on a steady 70-plus motorway cruise. What I do find gratifying is that if a busy motorway forces me to cruise at 60-ish, the figure can go up to nearly 50mpg. That kind of makes up for the frustration.

Wife says shes getting 35/8 mpg to work and back, 14 miles each way mix of town and fast A roads, does very close to 50 on her regular run to Norfolk.
day to day, about 35 (ish).
If I go on a long journey and sit at 70, low to mid 40's is achievable

I'm averaging 30/31 mpg over the last 10 tankfulls.
I do a lot of short town journies though.

i get 33-39 mpg with a mix of all driving, never any higher than 39 though,but mines a 55 204bhp manual and never realy driving slowly.
