So after seeing how easy Cobra888 fitted his trip stalk i have ordered mine, got all the pats and ready to get it in, but i keep reading about this Pin1 to blue pin 32 or something along them lines, can anyone shed some light on this, i know it has something to do with the washer bottle aswel!!
 
google theres loads of guides on there and a few on here
 
Put a repair wire from pin 1 to a earth point, this will stop the low washer bottle fluid light showing.
 
I also would like clarification on this it is pin 1 on the plug that goes to the instrument cluster isn't it ?
 
I have a picture of which plug it is, i'll post it up tomorrow.

Awesome, nice 1 matty, i have bought the repair wire so is the a earth hole for the other end go in??

And if i cant get it turned on this weekend, will everything else work??
 
I just crimped a round terminal to the end of the repair wire and put it under one of the dash mount bolts ( once out it will become obvious where it can be connected), as for not having time to get it coded i guess that at worst you won't have rear wash wipe and obviously DIS function bit i would like to believe that the wipers will still work.
 
Thats all good then Matty, dont have a rear wiper lol.

Oh right so its the same as the 8L, the is a earth on the dash crash bar behind the clocks, awesome, job on then lol, might even do it when i get in, not like its hard to do, think it only took me half hour last time, and that included changing the washer botle lol

Haha took me rear wiper of fella,so don't know why I didn't get a saloon 1 lol. All fitted just got to go see alexgsi2002 tonight and all will be good
 
For some reason mine won't work right, the rest button turns the dis of but that's about it,iv heard you have to code them before fitment?????
 
you do have to code it in and it doesn't have to be coded before fitting
 
Nice matty,cant remeber which screen it was but every time we changed the value it went straight bk to the original. Done me ed right in!!!
 
one click of the bottom button turns screen off
hold it in for a few seconds resets etc

Channel 081: Vehicle Data Learning

To start the process for vehicle data (VIN) learning, enter/save 00111 as new value.
 
what codeing is there ?

post it and ill tell you what you need to change it to
 
Just had a read through this thread - looks like I may have missed off the last bit of adaptation - vehicle learning that Bez101 posted, which will probably explain things.

Give me a shout when your free this week so we can have a crack at it again - Can probably meet halfway after work.

Have you bought Avant or saloon switch ?
(I know you have de wipered). Pretty sure i saw sommat in VCDS when enabling my DIS about rear wiper present

Wonder if it might be that stopping it working
But prob just needs scasm coding properly
 
Yeh turned the rear wiper of,after further talks with alex,we missed the second half. The adaption. All will be good tomorrow,hopefully lol
