Hi everyone

I'm thinking of upgrading my brake for my 07' 2.0tdi 140 and will be remapped

what would be better

uprated discs and pads ?

bigger brake kit?

how do i find out what brakes will fit to my car?

thanks

Spend a bit of time searching and you'll find all you want to know, it's been covered loads of times!

S3 brakes fit, a cheap option is 312mm discs, which only need the carriers and discs replacing, you could go the whole hog and get 6pot pa's if you want.

It all depends how much £££ your willing to part with!

GOLF MK5 R32 DISCS AND CALLIPERS AND CALLIPER CARRIERS ARE FANTASTIC SOME TIMES TO GOOD.

DEPENDS WHAT YOU WANT

I went for Golf GTI Mk5 front calipers/312 carriers and discs including the rear calipers + larger discs too, and I'm more than happy with them and I've had remap to 175-180bhp

Im plannin on gettin my 140bhp a3 remapped, any idea if I would need to actually upgrade my brakes or would just getting new pads be ok? im on tight budget at the moment :(. Also what do people on here normaly go for I mean any specific make? and is ther any website to buy from? thanks

If your on a budget, and depending how tight it is, 312mm discs are reasonable upgrade for the money, and only need the discs and carriers replacing, your caliper is retained. (i have them waiting to be fitted) carriers are £90ea from Audi, so I guess £100 for the pair from a scrappy ? Then discs arnt really much more expensive than the 288mm you'll already have.

Feroddo ds2500 pads always get v.good reviews, but don't come especially cheap.

Having not got round to fitting mine yet, I can't comment on performance, but if I remember right tdi-man had 312mm for a while.... Apologies if I've just made that up tdi-man ;) lol.

312mm discs on my 170 diesel are a big improvement on my old mk5 Golf 140 GT brakes

170 Diesel and 2.0 TFSI have 312mm up front and 255mm rear, my 2007 170 TDI has these

Ive done some searching and cant make up my mind about which 1 to get or even if they are the right ones..

1. VW Golf, Seat Leon or Ibiza, Audi A3, 312mm Calipers Carriers Discs Pads & Hoses | eBay

2. AUDI A3 2.0 TDI 312mm 03-ON Drilled & Grooved Sport FRONT Brake Discs Rotors | eBay

3. Front Brembo Max Brake Discs AUDI A3 S3 Q 96>03 | eBay

4. DRILLED GROOVED BRAKE DISCS FRONT REAR AUDI A3 S3 312mm | eBay

Which one out of these would anyone recommend, or is there another website I can look at?
I dont do any racing so I dont need anything too too big, from what ive been reading I only need carriers with these I think, or is there anything else I need? thanks
Sorry NavA3 for stealing your thread, but could help us both :)

I agree, that is a bargain. I paid just under 200 quid for the 312mm upgrade, and I only got new pads and discs, and second hand carriers. I didn't even get the dust shields (you may know them as back plates) for that price, and the dust shields definitely worth getting!
