Hi All,

My front brake pads will be due for replacement soon....not sure if the discs will will require changing aswell......

Anyway where would you recommend VAG OEM parts from? and are these parts easily changable?

Anyone recommend an upgrade kit possibly//?

Thanks

I will have a set of 321mm DTM calipers, drilled discs and pads going soon... not sure what yours are they maybe the same!

Is yours a quattro or FWD?

I got my discs and pads from MTEC Brakes, Performance Brake Discs, Sport Brake Discsrilled discs all round and Mintex pads. Zero complaints, at least as good as OEM (which were also drilled at front).

Just so you know Audi do a fixed cost front brake change under their servicing scheme, detailed on their website. It comes to around £250 if memory serves me correctly and is way under the cost they would charge you in parts alone for front discs and pads, might be worth considering.

Yeah £250 per axle. Mtec will do the disc's and pads for £211 for both axles, so as long as your not being raped for fitting, that's why I went that way. I saved about £150 over taking it to Audi I think. At least.

The £250 includes fitting, all depends if you want to stay OEM or not, and saves a packet over buying over the parts counter, they wanted £500 for front discs alone. There's no doubting the Mtec kit is cheaper though.

Thanks all for replying so far. I am tempted by the mtec but Audi price is not bad either! Anyone fitted the brakes and discs themselves? I have done this before but not on an audi......and its been a few years!

I fitted my brakes myself.. Its a doddle. My gran could probably do it!

Even if you're local garage fit's them, you're looking at about £150 fitting + 200 for the parts. £350 is definitely cheaper than £500.

Thanks guys - decisions decisions and apologies for the late reply back!
