hi, can anyone tell me the procedure for removing a turbo from a s3 2000 model,as i need to fit a new one thanks kev

Remove the subframe and transfer box for extra room. it's fiddly but pretty straight forward.

Yeah I know it's not necessary, but I've found it is the quickest way as you can literally undo the mani bolts, lines and dp and drop the turbo straight out. I see a couple of these a month atm along with clutches :(

Whenever asked, I always say head off.

It makes the job 10 times easier, as well as meaning you know you have a new HG, and belt to go with the new turbo...

hmmm. interesting.. So you leave the mani in situ and undo the turbo and its line from below? did I read that right?

And if you're removing the head, you'd be crazy not to do the rods...

And if you have the rods out you might as well go 2.1 and then why not fit a GT35...

Both water lines and return. obv the feed line from above lol, I undo the mani bolts and sneak the turbo towards the bulkhead to reveal the banjo. The reason i do it this way is that i had the bottom turbo support bolt snap on me once, so i had to remove the transfer box to remove the support bracket and it actually worked out quicker than the way i was previously using. Out of curiosity, how long does it take you to swap out the turbo bill?
