I've just bought some new wheels for the car, they're 18" RS6 style wheels with 225/40/18
Unfortunatly, there is issues.
I was sold them as 4 x ET43.
When they arrived, it seems there is 1 genuine audi wheel at ET43 and 3 at ET33.
He's going to ring me later for a chat.
I paid for them through paypal on my credit card, so hopefully i'm fairly well covered.
But if the worse comes, would ET33 do? I'm fairly sure they'd stick out too far?

Any help welcome!

ET33 is probably at the limit of what you'd get away with, but with 225 tyres you might be ok.

I'd not want to running a spacer on one wheel alone though!

Nah, I wouldn't do that James.
I was wondering if you could get away with, asking him to buy 1 genuine wheel.
Have ET43 on the front and ET35 on the rear?

Hopefully they don't look too different.
I'll try them on tomorrow.
I could do with finding out who made the reps. Then I could buy a new rep one.

Are the 3 reps? That sounds very similar to the ET I would expect on a real RS6, as they required the lower offset due to the flared arches.

Try them all on first I think. Then you may only need to buy the one ET33 and then save the hassle of spacers to get the right stance.

Yeh the 3 are reps fella.
The genuine one is ET43 Probably not a rs6 wheel.

You are quite right, the OE A4 8x18 Five Arm wheels are 43mm offset. An OE wheel is around £500 from Audi........

(They are NOT C5 RS6 wheels!! These are 19" in the UK and 9X19 35MM offset).

I'm running MTM 10mm spacers (now ET33) and had to remove the arch liner screws at the top of the front arches to stop the odd rub, now perfect. But the car is lowered on KW coilovers. Might be ok on Sport or S-Line suspension.....

HTH

Is it sensible to run different offset on a quattro on the different axles? It thought tyres, offset all should be exactly the same.

A slightly smaller offset (wider track) on the rear won't affect anything. Problems will occur if you change the tyre size dramatically front to rear.

However there are plenty of Yanks running 'staggered' wheel set ups with quattro, the torsen centre diff will take up small differences.

If I do go the route of 43 on the front, I'll pop on a 5mm spacer. Just for good measure.
Cheers Gents.

Welcome back Bub! Spot on as usual, changing the track front to rear won't affect the diff, just changes in rolling radius.

He's refunded me enough to buy another wheel. Which is nice.

Wouldn't worry about the ET33 fitment, i have them on mine. I checked before i bought them and there are lots of guys on here with this fitment. I am waiting for tyres on mine, but have trial fitted a wheel and it seemed ok

Sounds good, I'll be running ET33 on the rear and 43 on the front, but with 5mm spacers. So ET38

Popped them on earlier and the stance was lovely!
