As with most of these stories it is worth reminding Audi UK that it is proven that this problem occurs in cars that have been fully maintained by Audi with correct oil and therefore on what basis would it be relevant that incorrect oil "may" have been used. They can't have their cake and eat it...
Get back on to Audi UK re the servicing. If you go back to the early days of this thread there is a copy of the instructions that were sent to the dealers about how to handle this matter. Even if Audi UK can't find your reg on there they can always register it again

Contact Audi UK and explain your concerns. Say you feel you are being held to ransoms. The Audi UK guidelines to this case clearly say that the customer must not feel that Audi or the dealers are profiteering in any way over this matter.

The thing I don't understand is - if cars with a full Audi service history fail and have used the correct oil, why are they worried about cars not using the correct oil?

I think I need to ring Audi UK. I did not get any free servicing. I can't work out whether that is something the dealer is giving or if it is coming from Audi UK
