S3 vs Scooby STI(and anything Japanese whilst we're at it:) )

Our STI is a 56 plate hawkeye, well looked after and serviced by a specialist. I wouldnt say I lost big time but it is a fair bit quicker and that is in a straight line. Also no smoke from ours on boost LOL Not really sure comparing an S3 with a road going rally car which the STI is, is really...

S3 vs Scooby STI(and anything Japanese whilst we're at it:) )

I have had loads of "fast" cars including 2 lotuses and an S3. I can get to the limits of the S3 and pretty close to the limits on the lotus but there is no way I will be getting the STI as close to the limits. It is an extremely dangerous car in the wrong hands and takes a good amount of...

S3 vs Scooby STI(and anything Japanese whilst we're at it:) )

ok, I can comment on this. Just traded in my re-mapped 2000 S3, my fiance has an impreza STI. We have had the side by side and there is a big difference. She was driving the STI and she still hammered me. :bye: My missus is a good driver tho and is pretty quick on the twisties too so I take...

    Waved goodbye yesterday.

No major plans at the moment. I will probably re-map it eventually but will do that later as if I do it now I will be bored quicker. As std its 204bhp and 400Nm of torques so not too bad its actually got the same torgues as an M3! Re-mapped its 250bhp and 470Nm which is not gonna hang around...

    Waved goodbye yesterday.

the elise was a bit of fun but bought it new just last Feb. We just had our first child in December so the elise had been sitting gathering leaves etc for about 3 months. I had a finance payment on it too so decided it was a little too much money to be sitting around doing nothing! Just...

    Waved goodbye yesterday.

Well just before a year of my S3, I waved goodbye yesterday. :bye: I have to travel 650miles a week to and from work so the combination of 28mpg and 116.9p for a litre of super unleaded was costing me about £500 a month! So I decided with regret something had to give! So unfortunately I...

    Watch Out For Ice!

Its kind of strange in the snow. It seems more sure footed and is more difficult to get sideways but i think this is cos I have the C-dff set to auto so its always correcting for me. I did get it spinning in 6th last night by accident in the fast lane of a dual carriageway which was a little...

    Watch Out For Ice!

I wasnt too bothered at the time, maybe the cold had frozen my brain. When I got back to my house I was gutted. I wasnt hurt and I suppose thats the main thing! I just have to make do with the wifes impreza STI for the next few days

    Watch Out For Ice!

no such luck for me today, my farm road had 2 ft drift this morning so decided to try the other farm track. Got half way up and got stuck in about 1ft of snow. Managed to get moving again but ended up sliding into ditch. Farmer came and pulled me out but had to get dragged thru a field...

    Look what I've been offered...

Looks like a potential hedge lover LOL Far too much power for the front wheels, I used to be able to spin my 1.8GTI ibiza in 3rd in the wet and it was only 140bhp.

    Clock (time clock)

pull out to get it flashing, then pull once more for each option. turn to right to advance. I know this cos mine runs constantly slow it was 7 mins over night the other night. LOL

Best price for changing a clutch on an S3.

why do you need to change the flywheel? I never changed mine. Slave cylinder probably just as well if gearbox is out. £452 is not a bad price.

    High octane fuel

I used Asda stuff the other day, mpg went down to 26 and my car runs a little "rough" . When using V power my mpg 30ish and it runs smooth. Apparently BP 97 is made purely from hydrocarbons meaning it is genuine 97 RON. Where as Tesco 99 is made buy using additives to give an almost false 99...
