Does anybody have a part number for the front ABS/speed sensor for a '97 A4 B5?

Is it just me or does VAGCAT never work anymore?!?

Vagcats been dead for a while now.

8d0927803 is the current number.

You got a faulty sensor?

Nice one. Thanks mate.

I replaced the CV joints but one side got stuck in the hub and required a fair bit of persuasion to remove. Now I'm getting a fault code for the sensor on that wheel.. I know the reluctor ring thing is ok as it's brand new.

It was funny because I had the traction control turned on and it kept applying the brakes at 2K revs lol.

The ones in there should be fine, they were well greased up when they were fitted so should come out intact TBH

I love working on your old car.. anything that bolts together is greased up nicely. The top arms on the suspension (including the track rod) only took a couple of minutes to take apart :icon_thumright:

The old version of VAGCAT is rooted. Try this: VAGCATMK2

Does anyone know how to get that ABS sensor out of the actaul hub assembly?

I'm gonna get the wheel bearings done, but need to remove the whole hub from the car and take it to my mech's workshop for the press. They look like they'll just pull through the hollow?

cheers

Marty

I don't think the hole is tapered so worse case it the top come off and you pres the guts out into the bearing space

follow the wiring it plugs in just inside inner arch, you can remove hub carrier and leave sensor in hub if you unplug it

if you really want to remove it try twisting side to side first to loosen it

Yeah, I found that plug this arvo! Wasn't too easy on mine though - 1 glovebox removed to find wire!!
The sensor came out of the hub easy enough, it was the carrier I was referring to when I said assembly!
Once I knew about the plug, I realised the sensor won't fit through the hollow of the carrier!

Cheers though
