this is the email I received for a recent advert for a cheap low miler S3,and even in the subject heading it had RE: 'Audi S3 Quattro 2.0 TFSI' at PistonHeads.com but the herbert must of had his wires crossed when writing the email

Looks like a scam to me!

Yeah its a common scam, been going for years.

Surprised auto trader and the like dont make people more aware of what to look out for, or even check their own ads.
 
I had the `German scam`carry on a couple of years ago. Except the clown was trying to purchase from me.

Who falls for this nonsense?

yeh you say this but then sometimes they are for real, my mates just had a guy fly over from germany and buy his mk1 TT quattro sport... CASH!! just gotta be clever...
 
Maybe he needed the Landie to transport pallets of hard currency he inherited from his long lost uncle Bob Zabala who happened to be the late King of the African principality of Umbongo and he wants to share his wealth etc....etc.....ZZzzzzzz.
