Hi guys,

The stupid alarm keeps going off, I have search the forum for reasons what it could be, but am unsure.

I do not get the 3 beeps from the rear of the car when i start it up

Both the little lights on the doors light up and flash when i arm the alarm

Any ideas?

once i have locked it, the light stays on yes. Is that a bad thing?

I think they all stay on for a small amount of time, it does on mine and did on my last one, but it does go off eventually but I'm not sure after how long.

check one of your windows is not slipping down slightly as the alarm acts on pressure iirc that could be the plastic clips on the bottom of the glass broke or motor or cable, the alarm is truely pony

I will check the windows in a second when i go out but im sure they are ok.

What a stupid idea the alarm is.

Can i lock the car without arming the alarm?

red warning triangle stays on for about 60 sec in this time the alarm is not fully armed tillit goes off id start by turning off your sensors by the button
in the drivers door to see if its them if so then some thing in side the car is setting it off there is a number of things do you have any one near you with vag-com mate
this would be the best way to find out.

As per simon2004 - VAG-COM scan will indicate what sensor is setting your alarm off.

Cheers for your help guys.

I have tried disarming the sensors on the door – no luck

i have vag com, i will do a scan in the next hour and post it up.

but is there anyway i can lock it wihtout the alarm going off?

im going out for dinner and the last thing i wanna hear while eating my meal is that ****** thing going off! its driving me mad!

i dont think you can mate as far as i no evan when locked by key it sets

Piece of crap!

Even in my old golf i could just lock it and disarm the alarm by pressing the lock button twice, tried it today and no luck.

The hazard light should stay illuminated for about 30 secs from memory.

The three beeps in the rear quarter panel is the alarm siren battery running low, are you aware of this and how to fix it? It will cause erratic alarm sirens I think.

mate come on you save most of us at some point so jim will fix it is now james will hehehehe

Hi there, i had a very similiar problem a little while ago (which drove me ****** mental) so i bit the the bullet and removed the alarm (with detailed help from the guys on here) when i opened it up the batteries had leaked causing it to short out, sadly it was corroded so bad it was beyond saving but im sure if caught it in time you could fix this yourself if not its about £250 from audi:faint:. Hope this helps.

You can replace the batteries in the siren reasonable easily. Or wire in a new battery pack which is what I think Woorlord did.

the alarm couldn't wake you if you had it as a pillow but if your fix works woorlord then thanks

Right, i have cleared all the codes and im waiting to see what comes back. I also reduced the interior monitor sensitivity to 50% and the alarm has not gone off again.

Im hoping this is a quick fix.

yeah, cannot remember where, I think it was in interior monitor?
