BSH Bulletproof PCV revamp kit & Green Cotton CAI..any good?

Are these worth fitting , I've done loads of research and still haven't come to a conclusion (Mk5 GTI boys all rave about them!), so I wondered if anyone has fitted one and what their experiences have been with it. (I know about the catch can version, but I'm not interested in that at this time!)

Also are these any good or should I steer clear! Can't find a pic of it fitted anywhere! Seems pretty good value to me.

Ref the PCV revamp - If you are not interested in the catch can then the only real reason to buy this would be if you existing PCV is broken.

The PCV revamp will will make the car act as if it is always in boost and direct the pcv gasses to the intercooler piping.

I've read replacing the stock PCV with the BSH revamp was recommended if you have re-mapped your engine. So I was thinking of this as a preventative mod. I have had some PCV issues. But has been better after taking it off , cleaning and ensuring everything is tight.

I am also thinking of putting a CAI on so was thinking this should hopefully reduce PCV failure or boost issues.

Are there any long term issues using this that I need to worry about?

Has anyone experienced the Green Cotton CAI?

Yes it does help if you are remapped in that it gives you the peace of minf that your PCV will not fail. Why do you think a CAI would help prevent PCV failure? It should not make any difference.

Not heard of the green cotton CAI, if you want to get a full CAI you will be best looking at the likes of the Forge Twintake, EVOMs and ITG. :icon_thumright:

Sorry KRL, I didn't word that very well! I meant the BSH kit would help prevent PCV failure/issues if I fitted a CAI:icon_thumright: I maybe talking ******, that's why I'm asking

I have looked at all the CAI you have suggested and I know they are excellent but unfortunately I'm on a budget as I've spend £££'s on the exterior!

The Green Cotton CAI is in the link in my first post. It does seem very good value and Green Cotton do have a good reputation don't they?

To go for a green cotton intake you are looking at 42 quid, having to taking the engine cover off etc. l had one, l dont rate it at all. As for the BSH, l dont have, but l have thought about it. l have thought about a few other things as well. If you had a water/methanol system fitted would you need a BSH kit?

If you have Water Meth then there is no need for Catch Can kit if you want to prevent carbon build up as the meth injectors should keep the intake valves relatively clean. You could still run into the problem of your factory PCV failing though which you would avoid with the BSH and Forge PCV kits.
