False, to paraphrase Jay Leno - hybrids etc will probably be the saviour of conventional cars. In the same way that the conventional car was the saviour of the horse. Horses are now used for weekend fun instead of the daily grind. If I could afford it and the current stock of eco-cars didn;t look so pretentious (hey look, I'm driving a **** looking car, but it's ok 'cos I'm saving the planet!) I'd have one car for the week and another as a weekend toy...
