couldn't install the aftermarket DRL headlamps :(

Just a heads up to people who wanted to install these.... I was all ready to install these ..

but in the end the garage told me that my car couldnt install these because my car uses Bi-Xenon's and these headlamps are only compatible for normal Xenon's.. Apparently they have different pins on the cable... unless i do all the modding with the wiring/cables I can't get them installed and I don't want to go through that..

So instead.. I just changed my fog lights to HID's too ..

i tried changing the daylight yellow bulb into a super bright white LED too but I got an error code on the dashboard as if it thinks my bulb got fused so my garage will have to install this thing tmr for me which kinda tricks the computer to not know about it.

I'll be getting my H&R springs tmr too!!

I'm not being funny but every single advert I have seen for these lights has said "not compatible for cars with bi-xenons". Where did you get them from?

The rewiring isn't too bad actually, 30 minute job, but you'd need VCDS too.

Also yes you'll need a resistor to get around the bulb-out warning mate.

Well luckily I didn't pay for those lights yet! I was gonna pay after they help me install. I didn't know anything about the Bi-Xenon/Xenon thing because when I called the sales person he just told me it fits in S3's too.. I guess not my one

He was wrong mate, all S3s come with Bi-xenons and as you've seen the wiring is different. It can be done but then you'd be forgoing having the lovely xenon headlamps for LED DRLs with halogen headlamps.

i guess that sales didnt know what he was talking about then. any how.. i still find my normal headlamps not as blue or white as my fog lights now.. so i'm thinkin what to do. i want them to look the same!

gonna be getting my H&R springs tmr and also have my grilled changed to black!!

Now this is interesting mate. When I had my Golf GTi I retro-fitted OEM xenons into a car that didn't have them. I had to order specially made cables whcih were only like £20 from a site in Germany, and they worked perfectly and still do to this day.
I was actually looking into fitting the Xenons/DRLs from an 08- A3 do these fit do you know?

Yep you can buy a Kufatec cable for upgrading from Halogens to Bi-xenons but it'd need modding to work the other way around.

i think there are ppl asking this before in the forum if i remember correctly u have to change the bumper, the sides .. a lot of work..

Both the headlamps have projector lens.

if i install those new DRL lamps i posted am i actually switching from xenon to halogen?

are those new lamps halogens? i dont really understand =p

Yes mate if you install the other headlamps you'll be switching from bi-xenons (xenon lamp for dipped and main beam) to halogens.
