Retro fitting Puddle Lights

I've done it on mine, a nice and easy cheap mod to do.

As I already had the red warning lights I just bought the 4 clear light fittings, bulbs, connectors and some repair wires from the stealers.

Then cut the bottom of the door cards and installed the lights as shown in that thread. For power I just spliced mine into the warning light loom as I already had that in the door.

I have red things in my doors, but i just assumed they were reflectors.. Might pop one out later and see if there is any sort of wiring behind it!

Cheers

thinking ill add them to mine too nice touch what light holder is he using for it does any one know.

Use the proper light units from the stealers for the puddle lights. They're cheap enough. If anyone is definitely up for doing them I can get the part numbers for you as I still have the receipts.

My red warning lights definitely light up and are not reflectors. If yours don't then you will have to find a positive feed to connect into that goes live when the door is opened. Probably in the same way the first thread mentions.

As for the footwell lights, I looked into these too but the only how-to I found for the B6 said you have to take the live feed from the comfort control module which is located under the carpet. Once found it was a case of trying to get wires into it through its own watertight grommet. That's the bit that put me off!

im sure you can pick up a feed for the footwell lights from the ones on the door as they come into the car.
rather than get into all that bother with the comfort control module.

I would def be up for the puddle lights garfie so part numbers would be appreciated. I also really want to do footwell lights but we will see.

I can see yet another pm to pjmspeedy coming on. Oh dear. Group buy anyone? Lol

It's currently neck and neck between puddle lights and vent lights for the crown of this weeks 'must have'

all we need now is a xmas tree and the lighting will be complete:whistle2:

seroiusly i think they are great and as i have the red lights in the doors already il tap into them and jobs a good un

Previous A4/B6 >>Thread Link<< guide to retrofitting Footwell Lights.
This is different to the A3 link posted above.

My mod will switch the respective footwell light on as each door is opened as per OEM and does require VAG-COM to code the convenience module.

Christmas Lights..... emm? Have a think about that one!?
