A4 1.9 Tdi decat question??????

Hi, first of all sorry if this question has been asked before and I'm going over old ground! Had a look through forum and can't find any similar thread.

I have just bought a A4 avant 1.9 tdi 130pd engine (engine code AVF). It is a quattro and I am looking into fitting a decat pipe to it. Its already re-mapped and various other upgrades inc RS4 exhaust rear section. My question is can a decat pipe fit onto a quattro. I've looked on various sports exhaust websites and cannot find anyone that sells them. I emailed milltech and the answer I got back is they have not heard of anyone ever fitting one to a quattro before and they can't help basically.

Does anyone know if this can be done? I've found decat pipes for A4 2WD cars but nothing else. Is there any difference in the exhaust system between 2WD and 4WD A4's.

Yes, quite a bit of diff.. There is a photo about here somewhere that shows exactly what it is, I think QuattroJames might know where it is.
Maybe you should get a custom system made?

Ah thanks for that mate! Appreciate your help. Obviously totaly different. Do you know of anybody who has managed to fit a decat pipe to a quatro or if this can be done?

I went to a custom exhauts specialist to have one made for my car and found it to be of high quality and resonable price!
Mine wasnt a diesel but if its a good price for a quality modification then why not get it priced up then you can be the first to fit one to a quattro! Let us know what you do.

Any good exhaust place should be able to cut out the cat and put in a straight through pipe, But your car might go pooooooooooooooooooooo every time you lift off the throttle.

That's an awesome noise! I now want to decat mine! hehe

Is there any performance gain with the increase air flow??
