S3 Ipod connection and the IPhone 3GS

Having just bought an '07 S3 i was pleased to find that it had an IPod connection. I have an IPhone 3GS and wondered if anyone on here uses theirs successfully?. None of the attachments fits the IPhone but you can get hold of a "Dock extention cable" from the U.S which looks like it might work.

Anyone with any ideas would be much appreciated

Yes, it would work.

iPhone fits in the dock, i just put one of the little spacers in at the bottom to support it but and extension cable does sound like a great idea for making life easier.

Thanks for the info. I will order the extention cable but try the IPhone on its own again. Im presuming the previous owner must have kept all the different adapters as i seem to only have the one thats fitted.

I have my 3gs connected to the audi ipod system to my concert2 and needed an additional charge convertor as the ipod system has not been updated to charge the 3gs. It did charge my first gen iphone but doesnt charge my 3gs. music worked fine but no charge. so I brought one of these and now charge and music work fine http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/firewire-to-usb-converter

The dock extension cable may have this built into it, but worth finding out. Apple changed the charge pins on the 3gs from the first gen iphone

Will get one ordered. As for the dock extension cable being able to charge the 3GS, id doubt it as its and ebay special being shipped from HK !!.
