Anyone had a phase 2 map from R Tech on an S3?

Interested to know thoughts... I've not heard any bad things about them.

Not heard any bad press about them to be fair. Seem very popular on Mk4 Golf forums too.

Have you had a chat with them about it yet?, see what you can expect etc etc?

Had a chat with them about their Phase 2 map for the APY - the guy reckons between 260 -270 which is a little less than expcted to be fair - not much over REVO's stage 1! Hmmmm

Food for thought at least.

to be honest Welly, I think that's far more realistic than most other tuners claim. having been to several 1.8T biased rolling road days, the mapped ko4 cars NEVER make the claimed figures. the most I've seen a mapped ko4 make on a dyno dymanics rolling road was 258bhp, from a fully sorted revo stage 2 car.

Realistic power from a S3 ko4 and stage2 mapping is 260-270bhp, and realistic power from spec1 is around 240bhp. Some stage2 remaps are luck to see over 250bhp. Just search for stage 2 S3 TT & Cupra R ko4 graphs on google and you will see what I mean .

It not about the peak bhp at the end of the day, its down to power delivery and as much area under the dyno graph curves. With the ko4 remapping its all about getting the torque band to hold for asmany rpms as you can, not the peak xmas tree style spike up then nothing past 3800rpm.

Hi nick, nice to see you here. I have emailed you about my bespoke map.

I will ask here too, as it may be of interest.

Are the prices going up in Jan with the VAT increase?
Thanks

Thanks Nick, I'll bear that in mind.

Hello m8,

Should be the same prices, just need to sit down with one of my company partners and see what we are going to do as a group of companies.

Nick

Too much emphasis on bhp when torue is the real-world performer.

Those figures do sound realistic though, what are they quoting?

Hi Guys,

I had a stage 1 done to my a3 1.8t in feb with r-tech and still going strong all thanks to nick and ben, competitive pricing in my eyes aswell!

just thought i' let you know.

Tom

Prawn, good find dude. I expect I shall go tot hem when the time comes, I was having a chat with another friend of mine about them.

Thanks for that though, that was good to see... :icon_thumright:

so about the power gain claims from some mappers being like say Revo claim to reach 260BHP actually only reaching about 240-245?? So does that mean R-tech are being honest and actually really getting around the 240 mark? Sorry if thats confusing, av confused maself typing it lol

Stevo.

a mate of mine was up leicester the other week having an rtech map put on his ko3s a3.

i dont know if rtech's maps are customer, or who they are from at all, but it actually produces a good looking torque plot on the 20vt as opposed to the usual spike of torque followed by torque tailing off like a diesel

he is over the moon happy with his car, it doent drink at all, i recon he regrets asking to go out in my s4 afterwards though ;)

Fair play, I have heard nothing but good things, on here and other forums. So I shall give them a whirl!

Thanks for all the replies on this one, and I will bump it once I've had the map done (after intercooler - prob Feb)

I had a remap from these guys - I haven't got a bad word to say about them. They know what they are talking about and very professional, did an excellent job

Hey guys, I'm a bit far out the way. How far out will you guys head out? I'm really interested to see what you guys have to offer :)
