S4 boot catch

im after a boot catch for my S4, i have the boot symbol showing up all the time on my DIS so want to put a new one on as i think its knackered

does anyone know where the best place to get one from?

is it dealer only part and how much roughly are we talking?

I have had a quick look and it would appear you can get the switch seperately part number 8D5 959 489, costs around a tenner ish

part number is for a microswitch mate, Audi dealer part only give them a call

no mate might be at the weekend cheap enough though at £14 at the show i missed out at edition 38 as they sold out by the time i was leaving, so thats the 1st thing i bought when i got to audi inters!
normal price is around £25 here

not sure wot it is mate to be honest, i asked them for a boot locking mechanism for my S4 and they came up with this??????

wot should i be askin for then?? the switch or the actual whole locking mechanism?

sounds like they've given you the lock, rather than just the switch

Changing the lock mech wont solve your problem unfortunatlym you need the switch

sorted lol i cancelled the order today and just ordered the switch, i had a funny feeling that buying the whole thing wouldn work without the switch, switch cost me £9 so ill be getting most of the £27 refunded on friday.

mark is it hard to change the switch?

the guy on the en of the phone said the part nuber was for audis from mexico, im as baffled as you so i went with him lol have you ever got off the phone o the dealer and wonder wot the hell hadjust happened, i had to ring back up and tell him my name and phone number as he forgot to take it, he thought i was a mr evans................nah mate, Mr Stewart to you lol why do they always rush things on the phone and think that they know exactly wot your talking about and theythink we are the dumb ones and the assume is summin and order it and when it comes back the wrong thing they wonder why i got attitude in front of them as i haveto wait another 2 days for my part............... so yea mexico!!!! LMAO
