projector headlights

if you mean facelift projectors, then not quite. You need to change the wiring plug to the facelift plug, and you need to trim some metal off the wing.

If you mean the aftermarket ebay projectors, then assuming they're designed for a pre-facelift car, they should fit, but i should warn you they arent very good.

yeah sorry i mean the face lift.

The Depo lights were ok, they just need to be fitted with decent HID's for them to be bright enough.

I got mine off eBay a while back.

Saying that, you could get hold of OEM facelift headlights (halogen) for £55 new a while ago on eBay.

Cheers Blue.I'd seen a coupe of those but not the new units. So, just to recap, the only way to go Xenon is the get the pre facelift S4 items. Otherwise I can go for the facelift or Depo items? Im being dull about this as I know nothing of HID/Xenon/halogen...

All S4's have xenon pre/post facelift.

A4's are mostly halogen (xenon might have been an optional extra on later cars)

You can retrofit HID's to the halogen projectors, but you need to be aware of the legal constraints (you officially need auto levelling and headlamp washers for a HID install)

Genuine lamps are what you want tbh. I've seen pics of the Depo beam pattern and they're pretty rubbish, you might get a good set, but its a bit hit and miss.

So more likely I have HID kit fitted to my standard halogen system. So If I go facelift headlights, I'll just need to alter the wiring to accept presumably as detailed elsewhere on here? Will the self leveling motors be inc?

Sorry, just thought you wanted brighter lights, not specifically facelift.

If you buy facelift lights new you will need to buy the levelling motors separately - about £25 each. The motors for self-levelling and non-self-levelling are different though... as I found out at my expense. :-(

FOR SALE - One new and unused headlight motor (not for use with self-levelling!) -£15

Blue: On facelift lamps, both xenon and halogen lights use the same levelling motor, 1J0941295B.

On Pre-facelift there are Valeo Halogens, with 6K5941295, bosch halogens with the integrated fog, which use 4D0941295, and bosch xenons which use 4B0941295

Im sure all this will make much more sense once Ive delved under the bonnet this weekend...
