Any 1.4T owners out there with black sooty exhausts ? Mines an 08 with 10K on the clock and from day 1 its had dirty sooty black exhausts, its got the stainless tips on which probably highlights it, every time you glance at them its got black runs coming from them, its not oil its dry black soot.
It does a bit of short running but even when it visits the Highlands or the Lakes its still the same.
It runs as sweet as a nut, goes very well, uses no or very little oil and returns damn near 50 MPG on a long run.

Anybody else got the same on a petrol TFSI ??????

Yep on my 2.0 TSI, Ive come from a 1.9 PD TDI engine and that had less soot & crud on the exhaust than the petrol. The best thing to get it of is some very fine wire wool covered in Braso then polish it up with Braso on a J Cloth, dont even bother with Auto Sol (spelling) as its pants!!!

Incredible engine isn't it, I love mine! I do have the same problem, I've just purchased £350 worth of Polished Bliss so once its gleaming I'm going to keep on top of it, it is annoying though!

I guess dirty pipes isnt an issue just for 1.4 Tfsi`s

Got some dirty ones too, 1,4T also, i just wipe them clean every time i get my car washed.
No need for products whatsoever

autosol..works great on chrome and stuff, im sure it would work on exhaust tips..?

I wipe with a sponge every time I wash and autosol once a year and mine are nice and shiny. Autosol does work :)
